I'm assuming a juggernaut is always worth it, but I'm forseeing S4 as being lackluster.

Which two of these would be the best arm/weapon options?

Power Axe
Power Sword
Power Maul
Power Lance
Power Fist
Chain Axe
Lightning Claw
Axe of Khorne
Goredrinker
BOEB
Kor'lath Axe of Ruin

I've been leaning towards LC and PF, for the extra attack, but this still has my lord striking at initiative at only Strength 4. Are there any other options worth taking? I was going to take a Sigil as well, but are other items like the Skull-Helm, a familiar, or Bloodforged Armour worth their points?

I'm also likely going to take either a Herald with the Hatred Locus and a 20 strong unit of hounds. Should I run him bare with just a locus and juggernaut?

What are peoples' opinions on running CAD vs Slaughtercult?

Juggernaught
Goredrinker
Lightning Claw
Sigil of Corruption
Collar of Khorne

GD is a really awesome relic... Once you've scored 7 wounds your Lord is S10 and all attacks are instant death... You can take down anything including Knights and GMCs.

That's assuming you live to I1 vs some of those.

Still, Goredrinker is your best bet. If you were able to take multiple relics, the armor giving EW would be a fantastic choice.

Is it worth it to lose out on the extra attack for re-rolling to wound?

5 specialist attacks, 3.33 hit, (1.66+0.72), 2.38 wounds against T4 at ap3
6 regular lance attacks, 3.9 hit, 2.66 wounds against T4 at ap3

with the extra blood tithe attack it's 2.95 specialist wounds vs. 3.11 lance and the lance is better vs. vehicles. If I'm facing anything that makes AP4 useful the maul is much, much better. I would like to use the Goredrinker though it seems very sweet

A Protoss colony world

I recently ran a Chaos Lord from KDK with a Juggernaut, Sigil, Axe of Khorne, Power Fist, and the Bloodforged armor. He did pretty well overall. The Axe of Khorne is there for some AP2 at initiative, and can ID multi-wound characters if you roll a 6. For things like Imperial Knights and other large characters, he can swing the power fist instead for some S8 action, albeit at initiative 1.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

S8 is not that great versus AV13, when fully juiced Goredrinker is laying down S10 AP1. Use Flesh Hounds as ablative wounds.

Drop the Collar of Khorne; if you're running your Lord with Hounds they all have collars anyway. Use the points to get a combat familiar to try and boost your Goredrinker tally quicker.

Definitely agree that Goredrinker & LC is the way to go with a Juggerlord though.

I used to run LC/GD but it didn't seem to always work so well for me (plus some of my local players are picky about the claw wounds feeding the axe) so I recently switched to a Blood Forged Armor/Axe of Khorne combo. I get AP2 at initiative, 6s are still ID, and now he has FnP and EW. It's a few points more expensive iirc, but it works.

I'm thinking Goredrinker and Power Maul. So he's great vs TEQ and GEQ, and he can hurt vehicles. I'm planning on running him in a deathstar with 20 hounds and another herald with the hatred loci.

The extra attack for no specialist is very worth it. The majority of the time it works out to be better than the reroll to wound mathematically

You'd almost always want to run him on a Juggernaut with a Sigil and Lightning Claw, alongside either a unit of Flesh Hounds or Bikes. Whether you go a Power Fist or Goredrinker as your 2nd weapon is personal choice.

I don't particularly like using an Axe of Khorne on him, but that might just be because I'm used to only paying 10pts for them with Chaos Demons...
