Can someone please tell me what leadership my unit uses when regrouping after a failed morale check from shooting/assault results.
Example: 10 Kabalite warriors, we lost 8, fail leadership of 8 if I remember correctly. Ok we run. Next turn we try to regroup..do we regreoup on 8? or do we regroup on double 1's because we have less than 20% of the original units size. Also If the Kabalite unit started at 10, loses 5, but doesn't break. Next turn loses 3, and ends up with 2, and THIS time breaks..do they regroup on 8? or double 1's?
Thanks guys, I hope this wasn't asked too confusdingly

You regroup on your base leadership unless the unit is less than 25% of its starting size. So if your 10 guys are ever down to just 2, they will need double 1's to regroup.

Note that, if an Independent Character is still part of the group, they would rally on a normal leadership rather than double-1's - this is because of part of the Independent Character rules called Heroic Morale (page 166).
I'm sure the regrouping rules (page 59) used to be more explicit about using the starting number for working out the "under 25%", but that's what it refers to.

Does it have to be an Independent Character? I thought it was just any character (like a squad sergeant) that lets you regroup on normal leadership.

Considering Quanar already stated that Heroic Morale is part of the Independent Character special rules and not the general Character rules...

It's also part of the Regrouping Rules. It's nice when reminders are built in.
