I Play CSM and have a hard time vs SoB since the guy loads up on melta. He has these exorcist that he hides very well in cover and sometimes the organ pipe silos peek over low terrain cover so he can shoot when obvious predator and other vehicles can not see and shoot since they dont have the model for advantage height of the missile silos.

So all the s8 ap1 from exorcist and meltas wreck everything in my book, every dinobot, every thing from plague marines, spawns and obliterators. They have acts of faiths to ignore cover.

He also has Penitent Engines to beat stuff in combat but i can focus on these open tops early at the cost of ignoring everything else coming at me with meltas.

Could you try a deepstrike/pod/outflank approach rather than a straight up fire fight? Get in behind his tanks etc

For the described situation i agree, a deep striking oblit would work per tank easy, or maybe a 3 man termicide even though they will all get scrapped very quickly. The other route is having plague marines in a rhino with meltas and just flat outing or going then popping smoke until you get close. Also, remember that they are T3 so any strength 6 shooting negates feel no pain and they will only get one armor save

SoB can do melta really, really well. If he is running small squads of sisters without priests, in CC they're effectively guard in power armor.

The Exorcists do have AV 13 upfront, but are rhinos otherwise. If you can outflank and get to the juicy armor or hit them in CC, then they're just rhinos with a 6++, and d6 shots isn't reliable. 48" is good range but its not the whole board and LoS is still limiting the sweet sweet organ gun.

Penitents are very fragile walkers, you should be able to stay back and pick those off before they charge, either hull pointing or exploding one. Definitely don't fight them in CC if you can avoid it, they're delicate but hit hard.

I'm surprised there's an issue with Pentinent Engines. They're pretty bad to be frank.

Exorcists are easy to deal with. They're 10 in the back and 11 on the sides. 3-4 Terminators with Combi-Plasma will almost get their points back. Any Melta Sisters that end up failing to kill them will end up being caught in melee with them.

This is actually pretty douchey, tbh. If he can draw LoS to you, you can draw LoS to him. He may get a +1 cover save, but you should still be able to shoot at him.

Without getting into the whole tier thing, SoB are comparatively much better than most CSMs. I regularly wreck my friend's KDK, Daemons, and CSM lists. However, most lists rely heavily upon Immolators. Sisters are extremely vulnerable in assault, so popping transports and getting them out of their metal bawkses is a high priority.

Spamming of fast assaulty units like spawn with MoN, Khornedogs, and bikes with MoN also helps. Don't forget that most Sisters lists have no anti-air, so Heldrakes and FMCs can be a real headache.

If he's running pengines, he's actually doing you a favor. A third Exorcist or rending Retributors in a fort would make things even harder for you.

Though if he really wanted to play to their strengths he would use a promethium pipe relay, get a lot of flamers up there, and get them all Torrent At 2000 points Sisters can come up with 37 flamers, and 27 Heavy flamers.
