There is a regular 770 pt stompa, a buzzgob mek boss upgraded stompa for much cheaper with different weapons, and a kustom stompa. They all have rules from different sources it seems.

Which one is "legal" to play with my friends without being a jerk, in competitive friendly games?

What is the best loadout(s) for said stompa?

You know, word "competitive" is synonymous to "full out cheeze".

Anywayz, here i some insight on the stompas you've mentioned:

- Codex stompa is pretty tame. In all fairness, it's overpriced for what it does in competitive meta.
- Buzzgob Mek Stompa is good. It's what a stompa should cost in current meta. It's probably a bit too good in regular games but fine for competitive. It can still get killed with D-weapons and mass melta but it's price and free void shields make it worth it nevertheless.
- Custom stompa can range from crappy to CRAZY. The best is probably double D, hellstorm flamer, supa lobba and shootas - all for ~550 pts.

I think none of them are too powerful for friendly games. A big part of evening the playing field is letting your friends know that youre bringing it so they can plan accordingly. Also Ork stompas are great models, have wacky and fun rules and are fun to play. If its a friendly and for fun game I would think your friends would have a ton of fun trying to kill the giant ork beast.

Personally there is very little the orks can bring to the table that is so mean that I would feel like you were just trying to game the system. Even the non standard stompas arn't bad

I feel like playing the codex stompa in any loadout is being plenty fair. Its not crazy good.

Personally I prefer to build a Kustom Stompa. You get powerfields.
Orks don't have cheese, fill your boots.

Kinda hard to be an ork player and feel like a dick for fielding something. Stompas are one of the tamest supers in the games, their spammability when you look at the FW variants being their main perk. Considering the rest of the dex is pretty piss poor, i dont see any cheese bringing a stompa in a friendly game long as you avoid the double-D blast variant lol.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.
