Been a long time since I've shown anything here, but liked how this turned out so figured why not.

Red and gold have been challenging colours so far since I'm more used to pinks, purples and blues really. But I think I'm slowly getting the hang of it.

That is a pretty cool gold actually, was thinking of something similar for my Crons. What is it - how did you do it?

What gold is that? That is unusually dark looking, unless its the light. Adds an odd but cool effect since its very dark but still shiny

It's actually the Retributor gold spray over a black prime. Thin passes like normal to build it up more on the raised surfaces for priming, zenithal I think it's called. Then later I did some very light VGC polished gold dry brush and highlighting on the very top most surfaces and washed it all down with nulin oil. Even then I think it was just one coat of the wash, took a bit of the shine off it but not made it mat either which was good.

Really works, totally stealing it for my Crons
Is it that dark however, the GW site has the preview a bit lighter. Are your pics a tiny touch underlit? Or with the black prime does it come out that dark (I really like it).

I think it could be a combination, but if it is brighter in person its not really noticable. I'm probably not going with as thick of a coat as GW anyway. Here's a pic I took after this thread for the army's entry in my painting blog here, got the lighting a bit better in it but maybe a bit too bright somewhat as well. It's always a bit under or a bit over.

I'm still not sold on this as I'm only using it since my brother got it for some stormcast he hasn't work on and I got tired of painting so much gold from the test model alone, I don't think anything would get me to drop $48 on a can of spray paint.

Basically its nothing different to their retributor armour except it comes as a spray.

Actually had to google that.
tbh with the price I'm sure I've actually sprayed some gold flakes onto it.
