Subject: Ork army - new player - Are old units still usable?

Hello everyone,
I have a question - bear in mind I'm just starting to play this!
Regarding armies and old armies, how does this work?
For instance, in MTG, old cards (as long as re-edited in future editions) are exactly the same as new ones, only with different colours, pictures, etc.
Is this the same for armies? I think there is a person who is willing to sell me some Nobz that seem different from the ones being sold in GW shop. I searched around and it seems that they are some old version of the units.
Are they usable? How does this work? It might be cool to have different looking units but with the same value.
By the way, I'm going to build a Orks army! Yeah!
Thanks

old minis are just as valid as new ones.
The only time you might have an issue if there is a sizable size difference

Pretty cool, different miniatures for the same value!

Old ork models are loved by many. So you can certainly use them, or use them as count as models for more modern units.
But be warned our old army might not be that viable due to the rule changes and the current weak ork codex.

But if the model exists like before and only the miniature change the "aspect", it is viable, right? (like in the example shown)

Lol I was expecting models like these . Your nobs are "brand new". No non ork player would ever see the difference between those models.

Your Nobz are from the Assault on Black Reach 40k starter set, which is an excellent way to start playing Orks in 40k. It makes even sense to buy more of these deffkopters as it was the only time they were available in plastic.
The core of my Ork force is from Black Reach - and by adding the other boxes like Nobz and Lootas you can use their monopose bodies as a base for uniqe, cool looking models by adding power klaws, different heads etc.
Best way to build a large Ork army imo
