I'm currently running a white scars gladius with a command squad on bikes and I want to expand that part of the list. I have the points to either run Chapter Master SmashBANE, (Shield eternal-5+FNP Powerfist) or a second biker command squad with melta guns and was looking for you guyses ideas on what would be better. With the double command squad I get 2 free Razorbacks but have no CQC at all in the list. With smashbane being more expensive than the second command squad I am giving up a few other upgrades, but don't really need to worry about punching things as much. Are Khan, the Chaplain, and H&R gonna be enough to get by? Are 2 command squads in a gladius actually any good? What do you guys think?

Depends?

I’m not a huge fan of all your eggs in one basket, so having two command squads appeals to me. Probably more flexible. On the other hand, some things just need to be punched repeatedly in the face, no substitute.

A lot depends on the points and the rest of the list. Probably go with the CM though.

You have hit and run, load up more grav guns and teach them why it's silly to charge you.

Alot would depend whether you use comp points in games for fun - do you?

I'm from a meta where a 1500 point casual, for funsies, only bring 1 CAD with no superheavies or GCs allowed tournament is still seeing 6 scatt bikes squads with pulse hornets and drop pod grav centurions with librarians. On top of that I don't really play 'for fun'. People don't come out much except for tournaments so literally half of every game i've ever played has been in a hyper-competitive tournament.

If you plan on running Iron Hands for Smash bane, why not use Clan Raukaan and get the Gorgon's Chain instead? It gives him a better Feel No Pain and has the same benefits as the Shield Eternal. Btw, he has a 3+ feel no pain at full health in a command squad.

Smash Bane is the one that ISN'T Iron hands. SmashF***er is iron hands.
