Has anyone tried this combo? If so, how well did it work for you?
This is only part of the list - probably in a TIE swarm or mini-swarm.
Youngster has Marksmenship, Wampa is naked and Colzet has the title and ATC
Wampa and Colzet follow each other. Wampa shoots first and uses marksmenship - hopefully you either roll a crit or get a focus (3/8 chance?) and turn the crit into a damage card bypassing the shields. Colzet then goes and adds a target lock to the ship that Wampa has damaged. in the end phase,Colzet can flip that damage card face up for the crit effect.
So a crit damage without needing to go through shields. I see this as being really effective against aces and/or rebel ships in general as they tend to have a lot of shields.
If you were shooting at an A wing for instance and happened to get 'direct hit' for the crit, you could destroy the ship outright without ever needing to actually hit it.
Anyone tried this out?

Major Rhymer does the same thing (crit through shields) with Advanced Homing Missiles, at range 1-3, at PS9 (with VI), with 2 shots (extra munitions) without having to roll actual crits on his dice (AHM just have to "hit" to deal a crit) for 32 points, and being able to take more missiles and bring double of any bomb (conner nets anyone?)
Just to clear things up
Major Rhymer (26)
-Veteran Instincts (1)
-Extra Munitions (2)
-Advanced Homing Missile (3)
has the same effect.
And if you want to use Wampa (which you should, because he's fun and effective) bring Emperor Palpatine in a Lambda Shuttle or Decimator and you can just CHANGE one of your die to a crit and then cancel it for the damage. And flip it with Colzet if you please. Takes a lot of the guess work and action passing/economy (dis-economy? mis-economy?) out of the equation

Well, Major Rhymer means that I'd actually have to put a TIE Bomber in my list
The emperor in a shuttle is an interesting idea though - lots of points for one trick though, but it would be funny to destroy a ship in a couple of turns without ever having hit them.

Eh, seems like a lot of stuff stuff relyong on one combo. Would be extremely easy to disrupt, especially since they're lower PS.
Honestly, if I was gonna use Youngster, it'd be with expose in a tie swarm with howlrunner.
You now have up to 7 ties rolling 3 dice apiece with a reroll on 6. I would probably evade with howl and youngster to make them less attractive targets, but even then you're still rolling 19 attack dice.
This one has issues too, but it'd be a lot more reliable and draws some heat off of howlrunner while letting your TIEs pretend they're x wings

The Emperor is not a bad call.
The Emperor with two aces in support (usually Vader and Fel) has been 'a thing' for a while.
A decent variation on this is looks to be to sub out one ace for two elite TIE fighters. Wampa works so well with the Emperor that he's a shoe-in; the other can be chosen to taste.
I'd suggest considering Howlrunner (because everyone's firing primary weapons and she's amazing) or Backstabber (because he costs next to nothing, is the lowest threat in the squad but is essentially a PS6 TIE interceptor if people ignore him).
Taking two TIEs also frees up enough points to give the Emperor an engine upgrade, a sensor jammer, or to take an electronic baffle and upgrade to captain Yorr.

Actually what I was thinking of running with Wampa, Colzet and Youngster was 3 more ties, so 6 ship swarm rather than 7.
Youngster + Marksmenship
Wampa
Colzet + Title + ATC
Howlrunner

Obsidian squad
I like the 7 TIE with Expose list and that is the list I'm debating using against this one.

This. Wampa is good because he's cheap. Once you start adding supporting ships that depend on him to be useful he's no longer cheap, and no longer worth it.
