Can someone explain to me the rule for the Greater Brass Scorpion of Khorne that allows it to disregard glancing hits? Whenever I have faced one, I am told that I can only get it with penetrating hits and any glances do nothing and are just shrugged off with no hull points lost. I recall that there was a specific rule for this but cannot remember what it was.

Thanks all

I think there is no such rule. Brass scorpion can be glanced to death!!!

Er no mate, I don't remember saying any such thing! It's got It Will Not Die, which may have caused me to disregard a few HPs. As a Super-heavy walker it also doesn't suffer from Explodes on the vehicle damage table (loses D3 HP instead). Might you be thinking of either of them?

ah, that's probably it. For some reason I had it into my head that I couldn't glance it. Righto, I will try and glance that bugger to death if I can!

Glance it from the front, penetrate it from the rear...

Well, I managed to answer my own question a couple of days ago. I fielded an Astra Militarum force with a Shadowsword. Hit the Greater Brass Scorpion with the volcano cannon (rolled a direct hit with no scatter) and then I rolled a 6 on the D table, followed by a 4 for a total of 10 hull points taken (6+D6) with no saves of any kind allowed. The Greater Brass Scorpion has a funky rule where it can take out things around it when it explodes. The subsequent explosion destroyed all other Chaos units on the table. Table wipeout by turn 2. BOOM!

All super heavies have that it catastrophic explosion rule. The great brass scorpion just adds a +1 to the die roll when you roll to see how bad the explosion is. I believe one of the knights has the same rule. Its the overcharged reactor.

It was deliciously good when it happened. It took out a Daemon prince and a unit of Havocs with it

Indeed. The problem - it being a nippy little bugger - is that most of the time, when it blows up it's in the middle of your lines....
