I wouldn't say OP. It's ALMOST infinite guardsmen. Remember when IG had ACTUAL infinite guardsmen? Not many people would call that OP or broken. Difficult to deal with if you only kitted your army to take out five IK, but that's your own fault for building a specialized list.

Good but not broken. The problem is that units that recycle on 2+ do no damage, have the durability of paper, and don't have ObSec for holding objectives.

for real? no obj sec? Thats the whole point of bring troops. i guess its like decurion where warriors dont get obj sec.

You do realize that only CADs and the Allied Detachment give ObSec to troops right? Nothing about troops inherently does that its those deteachments.

I just tried out mutant rabbles and if platoon squads are similar with bs2 and no armor save then forget it. they will run away and never regroup. If that happens, can they come back into ongoing reserves on a 2+?

Only when they run off the board because then the unit is dead

Also look at Chaos Sigils because platoon squads can take those

Platoons can purchase Militia Training and be boosted to WS/BS 3. They can also bring special weapons and Chaos Sigils.

Your units are so slow that even with Outflank you'll rarely reach objectives (say you die turn 3, respawn turn 4 and find yourself way off objectives). A competent opponent will also not wipe out whole squads right away but focus on thinning them down so you don't respawn.

It's alright to good, a bit depending on what missions you play etc.

...Can anyone help me find cheap imperial guardsmen look alike models?

I have like 15 flamers I can convert into meltas.
I use to have a small bag of 20 stratch built plasma guns.

I just need guardsmen looking models for like $0.50 to $1.00 so i can give them these guns.
