I really like "Size Matters Not". Will root for it!! Maybe I should do the freaky little ammo cherub

If "Size Matters Not" wins, next month, we should do, "Every Inch Counts!"

@Buttery - I like your succubus/vixen temptress!!

It's the old tiny familiar.

I would love to say that I'd do my Magma dragon, a Primarch or my other monsters, but realistically, I know I can finish her.

Yeah, I have a beautiful Wood Elves dragon (metal) that I want to do too, but what will happen is I'll finish the month and... if I'm lucky... it'll be almost assembled

Looks like it's going to be a busy month for me coming up, which is "good", but it means relatively little time for model-making. :(

Ah, pity it looks like it'll be Size Matters Not. One Among Many I actually have models for, and really suits my painting style. I want to participate, so I guess I'll just have to buy some grots or something.

Revel in the glory of the site's greatest thread or be edetid and baned!

If we are already suggesting things for next month, I’d like to see a return of “Space Marine”, the one that started us off. If we make it an annual thing, (March of the space marine?) it makes a nice benchmark for yearly progress.

Size matters not indeed.

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

Sounds like a nice idea.
I think there is also going to be some kind of poll for the participants across the year to vote for their "painters choice" for the year. I'll check once #12 is over.

Space Marine is definitely happening in March, I already had that planned as a nice, accessible start for newcomers (I'd like to see a month with 50 or more completed entries at some point, I think we've hit about 40 on the highest so far?) and as a way for those who've stuck with it the whole way to see how far they've come.

This I didn't have planned, but it shouldn't be too hard. Take the top 3 from each of the threads, have a 1-poster-1-vote poll on those, preemptively hand Januine the award... Something like that will definitely happen come the end of Feb, remind me if I appear to have forgotten.

And that's a result, it seems that size does not in fact matter! Think I've got an idea for this one, just need to check some HH facts...

I wish I was more experienced and confident enough to get involved.

Size Matters Not gives me a great idea for a Giant and Goblin Fanatic Diorama - "man hit in the ball with cannon ball"

Every day I learn something new! But I forget 2 things I knew yesterday

What would give you more experience than going into a competition?

What would give you more confidence than people complimenting you work in said competition?

WHAT IN THE feth DID YOU JUST fething SAY TO ME melon-fether? I AM NOT **TRYING** TO DO fething ANYTHING, I AM ***SUCCESSFULLY*** MOTIVATING YOU, REGARDLESS OF YOU bs EXCUSES AND SELF DOUBT.

YOU NEED TO ENTER ONE MODEL, ONE SINGLE fething MODEL, AND YOU HAVE A FULL FOUR WEEKS TO PAINT IT - HOLY gak YOU CAN GET A FOUR DAY HEAD START ON CLEANING, PRIMING, AND EVEN fething BASECOATING THAT melon-fether. JESUS CHRIST A MARGINALLY GIFTED PARROT COULD STRIP AND PRIME A MODEL IN FOUR DAYS IN TIME FOR THIS COMPETITION, BUT YOU DON'T THINK YOU CAN? feth YOU, I AM NOT ASKING IF YOU CAN, I AM TELLING YOU THAT YOU MUST.

NOW STOP JERKING OFF TO PICTURES OF CATS ON REDDIT AND START PRIORITISING THIS OR SO HELP ME JESUS I WILL FORM A POSSE WITH PARADIGM, BUTTERY COMMISSAR, MIDGET GEMS, AND ANY OTHER PISSED OFF ENGLISHMEN I CAN FIND WHO WILL REPEATEDLY SLAP YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE PUT PAINT TO BRUSH, AND BRUSH TO MODEL.

...but in all seriousness - this competition really is a perfect opportunity and excuse to get back into painting. It's not so much a "paint the best model" as the spirit of "let's paint together, motivate one another to spend more time at our hobby" sort of endeavour. This is a very supporting network and community of people, with people at every range on the spectrum of painting ability/skill. Everyone will be very encouraging--and at the end of the month, you've got a finished model!

Yeah, size won, I did announce it but it appended to another post, so it was easy to miss.

@Ustrello: Corax, you say? Since I have a not-Lorgar awaiting paint... the gauntlet of Primarch paint-off is thrown!

@BillyC: Welcome aboard! Is that Giant and Fanatic idea an actual option? Because I definitely, definitely want to see that if it is! Don't worry about a lack of experience or anything, the whole point of this challenge is that it's more about the effort you put in and the fun you have while doing so than how good the final results are. Equally, it is a chance to push yourself, so if you're getting back into painting then I say there's no better way to get motivated to learn something new (other than another kb_lock bollocking, but the challenge is undoubtedly less scary! )
