Hi all! I've been toying with this list to run with until I get some more of my Auxilia and and was looking for any C&C.
Like the Subject, the theme is a "generic" siege assault: medusas (or bombards, Limited by models) and Quad Mortars kill and hope to pin any infantry out of cover/holding objectives, while everything else marches up

The Forge Lord either runs with the dreads or sits with the Medusas, apothecaries giving each tac squad interceptor + an infiltrate denial zone to help protect the artillery through the deployment phase.
One major change I'm thinking about is dropping the auxillia detachment as a whole, and bringing the medusas as legion medusas, though then I feel like i'd be at a lack of boots on the ground.

I'm not convinced by the solar auxilia detatchment either - admittedly, their medusas are better, but you are paying a tax on getting them. Maybe swap for legion medusas and buy another legion troop?

I'd free up some points to give the Dreads something better than a Flamestorm Cannon. With no Drop Pods I doubt they'll get close enough to actually use it.

How do you plan to deal with lascannons? A small squad of 5 men outrange everything besides the frag guns on the Quad guns. After your medusas are destroyed/ Disabled there is little stopping a dedicated melee squad from slaughtering the entire line.
Also It seems the praetor isn't really doing anything. hes kitted out for melee but besides tactical squads there is nothing that can handle melee with him well.
other then that seems like a solid enough list.

I was thinking about it, but I keep them for fluffy reasons ( DG+ flamers = fun  ) and the hope that I get the WT that gives me D3 units shred (so I don't have to risk the gets hot for these flamers.) One thing I've done (and will do if I drop the auxillia detachement in favor of more marines) is bringing the promethium pipeline to give my shredding flamer the reach that they need. well, the lascannon squad would cost ~230 points if it was just the las cannons and no other upgrades, worst case scenario I move up my line a bit more, slide the medusae up 6" and bombard them. Additionally, I'm not TO to worried about dedicated melee units as quite a few of them can be tied up (and in some cases mulched) by a dread, or the -2 toughness (Thurible + rad grenade) on the first round paired with the weight of attacks from the squad that the praetor is in.

Thinking of Joining a Davinite Loge

Have you considered using heavy support squads or durak rask to better take advantage of the reaping? As is taking rad grenades on 2 tac squad sergeants in squads doesn't feel like it's enough to offset the disadvantages that come with it.

I have, and I was debating taking an autocannon squad or two, though a reason I took the reaping was (once it was paired with the praetor's thurible) are generally good deterrents towards bit stabby squads

So far I prefer a missile squad for my main heavy support squad since it can infantry, armour, and flyers. Several flak missiles with tank hunters can certainly help keep the skies clear. Any squads beyond that one are usually focused on anti-armour.

Oh,I like missile launchers, but autocannons looks so cool, and are typically a decent all-rounder. Also, volkite is always fun for just melting infantry squads
