So I have a baneblade I'm assembling and I've recently encountered an issue with a part where I'm beginning to suspect the part is warped. I can force this piece down but this makes part of it lift away from the body and I'm using so much force to hold it there that I highly doubt my glue will actually hold it.

Pictures of said piece.

And me holding the piece down, I'm using a lot of force here, to the point where I've noticed that part of the plastic is turning white from being bent.

I'm not entirely sure what to do to fix it. Green stuff? Bend it?

Oh wow, is there not something underneath impeding it? I had the same thing magnetizing a rhino once. If not, ring gw or take it there and they should sort it for you straight away

Yup, it's a warped piece.

It happens with GW plastics sometimes (as with every other plastic kit manufacturer also - only they tend to have better QC so they don't get out as often).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

looks warped, yeah - what a shame. Heh--if they replace the piece, though, you'll have a nice piece to use for wreckage scenery!

So I have become aware of an even larger issue when decided screw it, I'll make it a Banesword.

Incase that piece looks perfectly normal at first glance if you look at it carefully you'll realize that half the piece is missing. The only reason I realized this was because when assembling the Banesword's turret I couldn't find one of the side pieces on any of the sprues until I took a closer look at this. I think I'm going to have to make a few calls at this point.

If you send those pics to customer services they will most likely send you out a new box, the the worst you will get is replacement sprues. Definitely email.

Yeah gw support is great, they've replaced stuff of mine without question before - two major problems in one expensive box will definitely get them to make it up to you asap

Yeah as JamesY said, I'm sure customer services would replace that piece if you wanted to continue with the Baneblade.

Definitely. Tell them you got half way through assembling the kit when you noticed these flaws. I'd be surprised if they don't send you a new kit, even if they only send you sprues it will be useful for terrain and whatnot.

It's pretty rare to have miscasts that bad.

I've had heaps of Airfix kits that were warped. I think Airfix (more than other manufacturers) pull parts out of the mould too early because it seems almost every sprue has a gentle curve to it. Usually it's not a problem because the parts are thin, so you just clamp them when gluing and it comes out fine, but a couple of things (like the wings on my Airfix 1/72 FW190-A8) was so bad that it was really tricky to get the right dihedral because it wanted to bend more at the panel lines which gave the wing a weird kink.

Like others said, send GW an email with the attached pics. They will send you a new box, no further questions asked. Either try to fix the bad kit with plasticard and have 2 Baneblades, or make a cool terrain piece out of it.

For all the gripes people have with GW, customer service for bad parts is rarely brought up. I’ve had to deal with them a few times over the years, and a single phone call cleared everything up, every time.

They might need a lot number off the box.
