I'm looking at using necrosius along with his ability to make plague zombies, but there's something im trying to figure out about that...

There are 2 different plague zombies that I can see, the one listed in imperial armour that costs 30 points, and then there's one listed in battlescribe (which is what i'm using to assemble my army) that costs 50 points and has different stats than the ones from imperial armour.

Could someone help me figure out which I'm supposed to use along with necrosius?

They are for different armies. The 30 point zombies are for Renegades and Heretics (the Chaos Imperial Guard list). The 50 pt zombies are for Chaos Space Marines (which is the army Necrosius is in)

I want to attach necrosius to his zombies, does that just mean his model gets added to the 11 zombies (10 normal ones and a champion) to form a 12 model unit?

Well its only 10 zombies because its 9 normal ones and a champion. And Necrosius is just an IC so follows IC rules and joins the unit yes.

It's 10 points extra to "upgrade" one of them to sergeant (even though it's a mandatory rule)

Also, keep in mind that the zombies Necrosius makes can not fulfill the troops choice requirement, so you will still need marines or cultists if you are using a standard CAD.

Nothing in the Necrosius entry says he uses the Plague Zombie entry from Vraks Renegade list and their is no reason to assume so because that would be taking a unit from an completely different army

Considering that there is no unit call "Plague Zombies" in the CSM book, you take the Vraks ones.

The entry for Typhus is pretty clear that his zombies, while the same in name, are chaos cultists with special rules. You do not "take" plague zombies in an army with typhus, you take cultists, and nominate them to be plague zombies.

Also, while it is rarely taken by forums as fact, FW customer service has confirmed that Necrosius, being a Siege of Vraks character, takes the Siege of Vraks Plague Zombies. Renegades and heretics/Vraks zombies, are technically the only unit in the game called "Plague Zombies". Please email them about this if you wish to see for yourself.

Side note, Necrosius is the freaking bomb, awesome character all around!
