Howdy folks, made another cadian battle group, this time with vets instead of Tempestus. Let me know what you think

Lack of ani air is troubling.

Icelord is right, Maybe toss in an ADL with quadgun, give your tanks a nice cover save to form a gun line. A 2 or 3 ship formation of Vendettas or other race's Close Air Support would rip right through that armor.

There isn't a fortification slot in this detachment

Where would I find the points for any anti-air?

To save points you can get rid of the extra hell hound, get rid of the grenadiers on the vets. If you really need to save points switch the chimeras to tauroxs.

Battle tanks are expensive. Consider taking Eradicators with heavy bolters all around. Then give melta guns to some of the vet squads instead of plasma.

After you've saved a good amount of points look into the skitarri as an allied detachment and get their dune walker crab thing and kit it out with the anti air Arsenal!

But I do like of you're trying to stay true and make use of the cadian battle group! It sucks that all the formations are so expensive because it's hard to get a decent list that covers everything.

Also don't forget to add the tech priest that's attached to the tank company. I didn't see him listed and I didn't check points to see if you added him or not.

Another option you could do is keep the tank company as the core and the ccs as your high command but for auxiliaries go with the artillery formation and get hydras and wyverns and a manticore and then if you got the points do you're second auxiliary as the basic platoon and run a couple squads in tauroxs.

Thanks for the suggestions Tankboy (though I already have 2 squads w/ meltas. Only 1 has plasma).

I tried taking off the grenadiers and swapping out the battle tanks for erradicators w/ bolter sponsons, but it only really saved 65pts. A problem that might arise from only having 1 hellhound could be that it could become an easy target for anti-tank units. Though taking that out would give me a total of 150pts to spend. Shame the battle group doesn't allow for an ADL :(
