Hi guys,
I've recently launched a website called Keypress Graphics that's dedicated to a hobby I've been pursuing since early last year, painting 3D-sculpted keycaps.
It is very much a niche thing right now but there's been an explosion of interest in 'artisan' keycaps in recent years and we've also seen a big increase in the number of keycaps being 3D-printed. Most though are typically cast by hand out of resin. I also paint flat keycaps which are great for improving freehand skills, and due to the tiny surface area usually end up being more challenging but very rewarding.
If you're keen to learn more about these keycaps or mechanical keyboards in general there's plenty of info to be found on the FAQ page on my website, and the Links page will direct you to sites where you can learn even more or buy unpainted keycaps yourself. I also have a Gallery set up with photos of keycaps I've painted in the past, you may even notice a gradual improvement in my work there as the keycaps near the bottom of the page were painted around March last year when I was starting out.
Here are a few samples of my work but you'll find plenty more on the website. I would love to hear what you think!

Cool!
Have to say though, Thor's Hammer while really really awesome, is kinda uhhhh in the way? lol
Guess I'm too practical. I like to be able to hit my keys. I suspect most of these wouldn't be on a working keyboard.

The clackfestation spreads...
In all seriousness though, I do have sort of a soft spot for custom caps. I already own a few sculpted ones and they're quite nice. Although part of the reason why I like them so much is sentimental value, they're made by one of my online friends, and it's been nice to follow his journey from fiddling with molds to making it pretty big.
Not so keen on the importance placed on them, though. This is probably going to sound absolutely nuts to some people here, but custom sculpted keycaps often go for 100+ dollars easily, usually in the several hundreds range.
Not to mention the 1k dollar keyboards....

Cheers Talys!
Actually I've already painted one along similar lines, great minds think alike.

Very interesting, and skilled, but I would hate to have anything like that on my own work desk. Way too valuable and way too easily damaged.

Pip boy is the arm wear. Sit down before you hurt yourself.
Though having seen that there's the link in the OP, I'm wrong, yeah, that's a plethora of pop culture stuff.
