Hi all! Just letting you know about a new 15mm product line called Realities of War.
To start this line i have just released two resin cast products from this new range. These are:
Town wall's
&
WW2 German casualty markers. Warning! These are quite graphic.
Many thanks for looking.

So at this point I realise someone's trying to sell me little dioramas of dead bodies... But since it's a hobby and not wartime profiteering( ), that makes it not weird?
Is there like, a line or anything that can be crossed? And how do we know when we've crossed it? There are still people dying of the flu and rabies, and someone is trying to sell me these. I'm glad I've got music as my main thing and not, y'know, little dioramas of dead bodies.
I'm all for depicting violence through expression, Ray Bradbury said "it's a sick person who can't release their violence productively" and his work often included violence, but there's a a total skew throughout the hobby in the direction of violence, and these pieces exemplify that.
Maybe I should switch to painting nudes.

Hi.
I won't lie. I did feel uncomfortable with doing these at times. I did even question if this was 'wrong' and i realize that this may make others uncomfortable. I came to reason that i should continue with this sobering look at war games as it is no more shocking than watching a war/horror film, reading a book or playing a computer game. These pieces are not to glorify war. If anything i would consider these sobering pieces as anti-war art.
These actually came about for my own 15mm games that i play as i don't like the idea of units/teams vanishing on the table when they have been destroyed. Due to a positive response through FB i felt i should share them and so here I am.
Sorry if this does offend. I realize its not everyone's cup of tea.
Thanks

I could see adding some sort of warning in the topic line, but I do support the making of miniatures like this. And think you've named the product line aptly in "Realities of War."

I think you should be proud of these. Casualty figures have a long history and these ones are particularly well done. You should take it as a compliment that people are having the reaction they do. It means you depicted the subject matter really well.

PC strikes again, war is not a glorious endeavor, it is not like those old propaganda war movies.
If it were depictions of German SS having "fun" in a concentration camp, that would cross the line.
So i guess Private Ryan's opening scene was also disturbing to you?
The only disappointment i had was that i clicked on the 18+ and expected some miniatures like from Brother Vinnie

Well, I think the moral event horizon isn't crossed until it's piles of little dead good guys i.e. American and British soldiers instead of little dead bad guys, like these obvious SS.
They're well-done, the crater base in particular is quite gruesome and reminds me of the movie Stalingrad where a similar scene played out.
I also noticed just now that officer.. damn!

I disagree. There should be casualty markers for American and British forces as well. I'd even be okay with a company making and selling civilian casualty markers. There is no moral event horizon to cross here. War produces dead bodies on both sides and on those not involved. It's okay if some people don't want it in their games just like how they can choose not to go see a movie like Saving Private Ryan or not watch a show like Band of Brothers. There's no moral issue here though, just preference for more or less gore in an entertainment medium.
I prefer my WW2 gaming to be individually based, but I can see why team casualty markers make sense for a 15mm game given Flames of War's popularity. Starting with Germans makes sense too as in WW2, they're an army everyone is happy to fight against so lots of people making German armies. They're probably the most popular.

Errrrrm well I was toying with either U.S. or Soviet forces next I wouldn't asking you folks actually. If you were interested in further casualties to purchase, which would you want? On FB its a mixed bag between U.S. and Soviets.
Many thanks for all the views on this. Much appreciated.

Ha, I think as long as the big powers / armies all get the same treatment in due time, doesn't really matter does it?
