Masmorra is the dungeon underneath the great city of Arcadia, which was used as a testing ground for prospective Guild Heroes. But since the warlock Malaphyas took it over, filling it with his monstrous minions, it's become a real challenge, beckoning the Heroes to brave its treacherous corridors in search of fame and fortune!

Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia is set in the Arcadia Quest universe, but is in fact a completely new and different game. In it, 2 to 5 players each control a single Hero, competing against all other Heroes. They must explore the rooms of the dungeon, defeating monsters, evading traps, and collecting gold in order to be the first to reach the highest experience level.

•5 Hero miniatures
• 5 color bases
• 5 Hero dashboards
•12 Monster dice
•7 Action dice
•67 Dungeon tiles
•70 cards
•45 Tokens
•5 player aid sheets
•1 experience track sheet
•1 rulebook

The Masmorra core box also comes with 5 cards that allow you to use its Heroes in Arcadia Quest as well!

This is a pretty different game than SDE. Probably room for both.

I wish Ninja Division and CMON had been able to resolve their differences and keep working together, instead of having two similar IPs / aesthetics, but not compatible with one another...

Some people will get both, but I think a lot of people will feel the need to choose between Arcadia and Super Dungeon Explore.

Didn't they just have an Arcadia Quest KS - like really not long ago?

!! - It ended December 8th! It hasn't even been 2 months!

I was annoyed when they had SDE legends so close after TFK shipping - but this is getting ridiculous.

Exactly what I thought when I saw this.

It sounds like a very different game, but presumably they'll include Arcadia Quest proper cards for all the heroes.

I'd say that's a good wager.

The games are completely independent. They take place in the same universe, but are actually designed by different teams.

Masmorra plays VERY quickly.

Considering the 3-4 hour slog that SDE 2.0 is, that'll be a good selling point.

Did you play with a consul?

Pure co-op (Arcade) has been widely reported as taking far too long. That has certainly been my experience. Dropped my pledge in the last SDE KS because when it comes to picking a game to play, we don't want to have to set aside several hours for SDE.

I'm sorry, let me clarify. My learning game of Masmorra was around 80 mins.

Hm, another CMON Kickstarter for Arcadia universe. That means exclusive miniatures for the Kickstarter only.

No doubt the game will be fast and simple with well thought rules. Models will still have their unique look as well.

But seriously, another Kickstarter when the Inferno one ended not so long ago? And it had quite a hell of a content as well - pun intended.

CMON is known for being often late for delivery, but that is really asking for it here, IMHO. I wonder why they are so in a hurry...

Expect to see even more CMON projects on KS,

The have just secured $5.3 million of Series A financing from a Singapore-based investment fund.

(Series A financing tends to occur when the company is generating some revenue from its business model, but rarely will the business be generating net profits at this point. Most series A investors will be venture capital funds or angel investors who are willing to accept the high levels of risk found in these early-stage company investments.

Read more: Series A Financing Definition | Investopedia http://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/seriesa.asp#ixzz3yuxFhpWO)

CMON have said the funding is to allow for quick growth of the company and is to be used to hire more talent, acquire IPs, and acquire titles from other publishers.

So they secured $5.3M in outside funding to fund their crowd-funded based business?

Something odd about that.

I have to agree. Securing funding to secure funding seems a bit at odds with KS at the very least.

I'd imagine it's to get bigger fast with a lot of the other players in the boardgame field also trying to get bigger quick

eg Asmodee gobbling up everything they can
Soda Pop starting to publish a bunch of games for other people
Game Salute re-jigging the business to release more titles a year etc

and since CMON actually has most of it's stuff well on the way to being finished there are still significant up front costs to each campaign

Thank goodness for that. Some breathing room!

That's what I was thinking as well. CMON seems to have more than most when launching a kickstarter and having more money would certainly help with that. Not sure what growing their business means exactly; more of the same or that plus new stuff.

CMoN has only disappointed me with Sedition Wars and based on what's happened since I get the feeling that wasn't their fault. So them expanding is fine by me.

As for this, I'll wait to see the figures and stuff. I'd love to have a relatively quick dungeon crawler I can teach the kiddos to get them into games.

I backed Arcadia Quest, is this just more of the same but with a different set of rules/style of play? Is it set in the same universe and will all the figures be pretty interchangeable? It seems a very odd thing to have a KS for so soon after the other AQ KS. Not sure I can put another $1-200 into a very similar venture before even getting close to getting my first lot of stuff, especially now Zombicide BP has been given such a huge delay seemingly out of the blue.

Does anyone know how CMoN work? Does one project getting delayed affect their other projects, or are they all essentially independent? As they've made about 5 KS's since Zombicide and they'll be looking at a hell of a backlog if they all take twice as long to complete as the initial estimate

This is a totally separate game developed by a a different design team although I'm sure there will be crossover cards for the minis

I don't imagine a delay on one will have much influence on others

(although it's possible things like mould cutting could clash, but since they subcontract all of that they're much more likely to be delayed by stuff from other unrelated companies)

All sounds pretty true. ;-)

2016 should hold some petty big properties.

Maybe they'll do the Fallout game we all hoped Mantic were doing before we found out they had the TWD licence.

Given how late the AQ:I PM will probably start I should easily be able to decide between the two Arcadia games. Would be nice to have something to play with my then 6 years old nephew. If I buy another CMON game right now, having to wait until June/July to get anything from Black Plague is a bummer (I'm of those base game-less folks). I'll wait for news about The Others and a possible delay there at least before commiting.

If they really bring out Adrian Smith's Hate with McVey minis, though...oh my. Looking like the guart artist box for BP and spikier BR mountain giants, maybe. Would be moranthan tempting. Especially of they go for the leaner Blood Rage model without a kabillion heros clogging up storage space and making the pledge more expensive.

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.

This game is more of a tile-based eurostyle dice game. The original game doesn't even have miniatures.

This is a non-miniature game with miniatures shoehorned into it.

There are no monster models, monsters are DICE. So that means heroes, and I wouldn't expect more than 6-8 fore the core, and since heroes are way more involved than AQ's one ability card, I don't expect 40+ heroes.

Is it a straight re-skin or an evolution of the original? I thought it would build on it.
