Sword-Wielding Bloodletter of Khorne
|
Hey folks, I've had an Imperial knight in the box since they first came out. And I'm thinking of starting on it pretty soon. Though with the new ones out, I've fallen in love with the power fist on it. Will the power fist parts from the new one fit on the old one? I've seen a couple ebay sales of the power fist and I'm just curious if it's able to be modeled on the older ones? Maybe not only that but are all the parts able to be put on the older guys?
If you need me to link the ebay thing I will, don't know about the restrictions on dakka though so don't want to post it now. But if nothing else I'm fine with the large cannon and power fist. But I know the newer ones come with the big ass assault gun (mini gun looking one) and also the nifty anti air stuff on the top of the knight.
thanks for any info you guys can impart!

The 'new' one is the same kit with an extra sprue added.
SO yes, the new weapons will fit the 'old' kit.

okay cool, so for instance, these pictures. Is this all the parts needed? especially the missile launcher as that seems very slim for parts.

Be aware that it's MOSTLY everything.
If you have already built the Reaper Chainblade arm, then you have used the pieces from the main kit(96, 90, 91, 92--the "arm assembly" that the weapon attaches to) that you need to attach the Thunderstrike Gauntlet to the body.

Kanluwen is spot on. You can get around that though with a hobby saw and magnets

Magnetizing the arms on knights is easy. Simply cut the "mushroom" end of the upper arm off flush with the visible section. Drill it out to your desired magnet size ( I used large ones) glue the magnet into place and repeat on the lower arm part. If the magnets are strong enough you can get away with only using one on the upper arm, along with a piece of metal in the lower arm. Roofing felt tacks fit perfectly.

Thanks! I haven't even clipped the kit from the sprews yet. I'm just trying to cover my bases before I start.
I should say more than 20 bucks... the damn missile launcher thing for the top of the unit now sits at 35+ and the gun for the top cost over 30 where the bids are now... the fist is a steady buy it now for 21 or 23 something like that. But the top stuff is astronomical for the price of the unit.

Thanks! I will have to try this. I need to do some research on how to swap the guns out of the other side as well.
