They are a 30k faction so your best bet would probably be to check the 30k section of the forum to get your answer. If that doesn't help just asked to read through the book and talk to him about it before playing.

19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.
40k/HH Night Lords 5000pts.
Orks Waaaghmacht Spearhead 2500pts.

Is this the same friend that took a terminus ultra in his 30K Iron Warriors despite the only current version of that unit being in a 40K UM-only apoc formation? (whilst complaining that you took a shadowsword from a current book that wasn't the newest).

The rules do not exist yet. They're coming in the next 30k book, right now all we have is vague reports from people who saw the book at this weekend's event. I would not allow him to use those rules until they are officially released.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Actually we have a fair bit more than that. We have photos taken directly from the new book.

As said, it's for 30k and not 40k.
It's basically a Legion army where you choose the LA rule on a squad-basis, rather than for the whole army. Rites of War still apply so you can get some weird combinations sprouting up.
The penalty is a total inability to contest objectives, along with some penalties if the Warlord bites it. You also lose access to Legion-unique units unless you have a HQ choice to 'unlock' them.

Rules which may or may not be complete. It's enough to play with them in a friendly game if your opponent agrees, but they need to show you the new rules up front, explain what they are, and present it as "can we try using this unreleased stuff" instead of just assuming that they're allowed. And it sounds like the OP's opponent is trying to surprise the OP with something new, and has a habit of bending and/or breaking the rules to gain an advantage.

Thanks, I am reading them over now.
Given my friends past record for occasionally misinterpreting rules I just wanted to make sure that I knew them as well.

I had a slight inkling that he may be trying to do so, hence why I asked here

So, guess this is a good a place as any; what do you guys think of the shattered legion rules? Cause they seem super good, tbh.

From what I have seen: Not nice. You can essentially pick and choose the best parts of several legions to tailor your list.

Given his past shenanigans I'd suggest telling him to ram it until everyone's had a chance to read the final and complete rules.

And don't forget the bitchslap for hypocrisy that I prescribed in the other thread.
