I know the joke got made before in previous threads about the Warhammerfests in the past, but this time it's even more appropriate due to the old world no longer existing. Warhammerfest has been quite literally sent to Coventry.

I'm hoping Mr Rountree will let the Citadel team do more than they have been doing at these sort of events, and actually, engage with the community a good bit more.

They haven't gotten rid of Ghal Maraz, soo they can still market it as the World of Warhammer

I think if you guys take a closer look at the Age of Sigmar logo you will understand why they call it "Warhammer".

I live in Coventry, so this is no hassle for me to get to. Yet it is a shame that the only reason I would consider going to this is that it may save me a few quid in postage on a £200 odd (and under £250) Forge World order to pick it up in person.

Strange announcement if you ask me. ''Warhammer'' instead of AoS. What's the reason?

Have you seen the logo? The Warhammer part is the largest text. It is "Warhammer: Age of Sigmar".

We'll find out soon enough eh.

GW certainly want people to call it Warhammer, or at least they do now, which is the point being made I suspect - until recently they were happy, even eager, to talk about Age of Sigmar.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Ah, but their stores are now also called 'Warhammer'... So when they say ' explore the world of Warhammer' maybe they just mean 'buy stuff'...

For added excitement, the stuff you can buy will even be at regular retail prices! You don't get that sort of a deal at just any gaming convention.

Spoiler:

Well if you look at the picture of the participation game it is VC vs TK in WFB so maybe they are bringing it back as a classic game

"Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. " - V

And people can like the fact that some people may remove Turnips and create a hybrid and call it a Turniporange.

it is still in fact anew thing that has very little to do with the original no matter what its called.

Yeah, but you don't get a choice in what it's called, GW do and it's still called Warhammer: Age of Sigmar and what you think of that doesn't matter in the slightest.

Well, bought a ticket.
Little alarmed it's now £20, I assume that covers admission to the exhibition hall (7.50), but the rest, dunno.

Because I live far away and can only get there at actual opening time, I never get to see the presentations at these things. I hope the folks who do will take pics.
