I havent been keeping up with all the 40k book releases. I'm interested into looking into picking up a fortificatiton. Is Stronghold Assault still the current book for fortification rules?

Yup. In fact you have to have it to use fortifications now since the basic fortification datasheets are not in the main rulebook anymore.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

It is the most current source of fortification rules.
The ADL (and the Bastion, I think) have the same rules as in the back of the 6th-ed BRB, though.

It does add additional fortification options from Stronghold Assault to them, however (tanglewire, traps, escape hatch, etc)

Most of the rules in the book are outdated, but the unit entries/dataslates are still valid.

Good point.
I will adjust my comment to be "It is the most current source of fortification options"

I picked up a copy of the book as well as an Imperial Bunker.

Alot of the fortifications look like they'd be fun to play with, and I do like having a list of all the options.
