Hey guys, I'm hoping to get my first game in against an actual opponent next week. Some of the guys at the local shop have kindly said they'll show me the ropes and everything. I'm thinking of a few lists, but for the Imperials it's this one:

Omega Leader (27)
Juke
Comm Relay
Twin Ion Engine Mk. II

Zeta Leader (24)
Wired
Weapons Guidance
Twin Ion Engine Mk. II

Epsilon Leader (25)
Comm Relay
Stealth Device

Academy Pilot (12)

Academy Pilot (12)

You can drop some of the less useful upgrades to switch out the Academy Pilots to TIE/fo's:

"Omega Leader" (21)
Juke (2)
Comm Relay (3)

"Zeta Leader" (20)
Wired (1)
Weapons Guidance (2)

"Epsilon Leader" (19)

Epsilon Squadron Pilot (15)

Epsilon Squadron Pilot (15)

Total: 98

Or shift some other stuff around and upgrade Epsilon Leader to Omega Ace:

"Omega Leader" (21)
Juke (2)
Comm Relay (3)

"Zeta Leader" (20)
Wired (1)

"Omega Ace" (20)
Push the Limit (3)

Epsilon Squadron Pilot (15)

Epsilon Squadron Pilot (15)

Alright, I was just thinking of the Mk. II mods as another way of getting rid of stress. Seems better not to worry too much about it though.

They only add two green moves to a dial loaded with green moves. Sure it's nice to have, but you could use those points for something better instead.

Agreed. Zeta Leader might be a good pick for it, since he's deliberately stressing himself, but for any other TIE/fo, it's not really a big deal.

Certainly, I think having two Epsilons rather than Academies will do you more good. It's surprising how tough a TIE/fo can be - that one extra hit means a lot when (a) it can soak a critical hit with no downsides and (b) it's protected behind agility 3.

If I was going to put a Stealth Device anywhere, I'd put it on Omega Leader - since (in theory) he's going to be shot at with unmodified red dice, improving his agility should pay extra dividends (think Dark Curse).

Well, looks like I'll be picking up more TIE/FOs when I see them. I only have 3 now, so I figure I'll grab 3 more and that should do it.

I had good luck tonight with the following:

Captain Yorr w/ tactician, rebel captive, and engine upgrade
3x Zeta squadron pilots
Epsilon leader

100/100

Lots of stress control (causing and clearing), and everyone has a repositioning shenanigan that they can use. I think I'm changing the shuttle to be an Omicron group pilot with FCS, ion cannon, tactician, rebel captive, and anti-pursuit lasers to see how that flies. I didn't end up using Captain Yorr's ability in my last game, so I don't feel like there's a big risk in dropping the shuttle down to an Omicron pilot. The guy I played usually likes to bring stresshogs but didn't tonight, so I might end up switching back though.

What did the Zetas bring that cheaper Epsilons couldn't?

Too many "Leaders" and not enough swarm. 5 TIEs is not enough against a lot of 4 ship lists (TLT Ys, Panic Attack, etc) and the 2 ship (Fat Turret+Ace) and 3 ship (Aces) can out maneuver them and pick them apart.
