In a shooting attack against a model who can use 'Look Out Sir", the shooting model rolls a wound. The enemy model with LOS is not behind cover and has a successful LOS roll. The LOS is passed to the closest unit within 6 inches. That unit happens to be more than 25% behind cover. Does that unit get to roll a cover save even though the original model was not behind cover? dsf

LOS! allows a Wound to be reallocated to another model in the unit, not another unit.
But yes, if the model the LOS! reallocates the Wound to is in Cover, Cover Saves are allowed. Saves are determined by the model the Wound is allocated to.

Doesn't that also allow a player to look out sir onto a model out of line of sight to negate the wound then? I've always just played the cover save determination from the original model itself to avoid weird things happening.

No can do, the rule specifically states:
... unit is closest to the character, and allocate the Wound to that model instead. This can even be a model that is out of range or line of sight of the shooting attack

It allows the player to allocate a Wound to a model out of line of sight, but I think it's clear that as an exception to the usual rules about Wounds being unable to be allocated to models in line of sight the Wound is not lost. Cover is always determined per the model with the Wound allocated to it, so I'm not sure what you mean by weird things - 100% obscured by being out of line of sight is more than 25% obscured and so a cover save would be granted.

A house rule that had the LOS use the cover save of the Character would make more practical sense, so you might get people on board with a suggestion along those lines.
But RAW the rules oddly use the cover save of the model the LOS passes the wound to.
