Pretty sure there werent any dual piranha wings, I ran one piranha firestream wing with 9 piranhas, and another person I think ran one with 10.

It worked pretty well, I made finals. In the hammer and anvil matches its a bit lackluster as expected, in others it provided much needed firepower/blocking for wraithknights/eldar. In the end demon assault cared not for them, and they were wiped out by Nova powers and all my screens poofed!

Great event, thanks again Gant for running it!

Jeezuz that's 18-20 drones per turn for screening and shooting. Were you the one on table 1 in round 5?

I hope they post the tourney stats like # of players, type of armies, and top 10 armies and etc. From what I see, there's quite a few Tau and of course lots of eldars as usual.

Yep, I was on table 1 on round 5. It's a tad better on paper then in reality (it is still very good in reality). Seer councils combat it with cleansing flame, same with other psykers with access to that, my daemon opponent used the new tzeentch nova to do the same thing (that fatey always knows), etc. It's a great stall tactic to provide some breathing room for tau against assault armies, but in the end its just a delaying effort - if an assault star comes knocking, they're going to get in eventually, just have to try and out pace them.

And if they have a nova...well...better get more clever then I was in game 6!

Haha yeah it's alittle Rock Paper Scissors, either a army has a way to deal with it or it don't.

How you do in the tourney?

That's true kinda whichever way. Not really a Tau specific thing. It's unfortunate that modern day top tier armies all rely on something crazy or another.

The finals was my only loss, so 5-1, which I think put me at 2nd or 3rd place. Matt Defranza had more BP than me, so I think he got ahead of me (though I haven't seen all the scores). Had tough games all throughout, won my game against Necrons on points-destroyed tie breaker in round 3, and had a tight game against Matt Defranza's Space Marines in round 5. Honestly all my rounds were tough though, in round 2 I played demons with a greater brass scorpion (which didn't roll so hot on invuls and departed us on turn 2), round 4 was against a seer council/wraithknight list, and round 1 was against double storm surge/riptides.

Tough lists!
