Shattered Earth by Massive Awesome

First off I'm just a backer of this project, not one of the people behind it.
I just wanted to share cause it looks awesome
I was hoping someone else would have posted this, I'll try to keep it updated with what's happening on the Kickstarter but if someone wants to take over please go ahead.

About the game

Shattered Earth is a skirmish-level tabletop war game set in a post-apocalyptic universe filled with wondrous technology and existential horror. The game is designed for both players and collectors, and is predicated on three key pillars: superbly detailed resin miniatures, free-flowing rules with tactical depth, and a detailed and engaging back story.

The game begins in the year 30 A.E. – 30 years after the last recorded disaster, known as the End of Days that occurred in 2042. The Earth that remains is an almost alien landscape; repeated volcanic eruptions have choked the atmosphere with ash, and the geology of the Earth is forever changed, now cracked and broken, existing landmasses drowned in vast oceans whilst others have formed anew, created by the seismic movements of tectonic plates.

Minis

Shattered Earth features a unique range of highly-detailed resin miniatures. In just 10 minutes we showcase every miniature we have produced so far, including a detailed look at the pro-painted studio miniatures. This is a great way to see things up close, and find out about the people that made it all happen.

The world of Shattered Earth is a dangerous place, but there are rich rewards waiting out there for those willing to take the risk. In the wake of the Event – the decades-long series of natural disasters that tore the world apart – many factions have sprung up to lay claim to land that was once theirs, and open conflict in the wastelands is rife.

I'll probably go in for 1 quid to get the rulebook (assuming it has enough backers) and then add-on that sweet sweet Jormungandr sculpt. I think the aesthetic and the fiction is awesome but while I like saving on retail and some of the sculpts are pretty neat (that UNM robot is cool) I think I can wait on this one. I'm not going to go all in and have it flop, globally or locally. I'll play it safe, show the mini and the rules to some folks and if there's interest, pick up some starters at retail and start playing Shattered Earth!

FWIW, I think the Alpha rules look pretty good. Not overly complex and once everything is fleshed out and edited I think the rules will be pretty good. It reminds me (kind of) of Dark Age rules, but on a D10 instead of D20 and using modifiers and dice pools instead of comparing stats. I do hope it takes off (just like I hoped Dark Age would take off )

Hey guys, Simon here from Massive Awesome. Thanks for your support so far, and thanks to JoeRugby for starting the thread! We're very close to unlocking our next stretch goal now which will make available a leader and unit for the fourth faction: the Children of the One True God.

Hi Simon! Great to see you here. I just listened to your interview with Ash today and really enjoyed it. The way you came up with the world is especially impressive, bravo! Plus the fact that you are guys not originally from this industry makes me excited for my own prospects one day! I am not sure if I can afford to back right now, but I will be keeping my eye on Massive Awesome and Shattered Earth.

The game and background look very interesting, however the figures seem a bit pricey. I'll keep watching.

Not far off the next unlock now

New update
---------------------
Sneak peek at Wave 2 for the UNM

Today we are going to take a look at some early concept art for the United Nations of Mankind. These sketches are for Wave 2 miniatures and have been created by the extremely talented Shen Fei.

First up we have Sgt. James Hammill, a highly-respected member of the elite Lynx Recon Troopers. Sgt. Hammill is a veteran of the early conflicts against the Deathless, and has first-hand experience of how challenging it is to fight an enemy that you usually cannot see.

Sgt. James Hammill

Next up is his associated unit, the Lynx Recon Troopers themselves. All Lynx soldiers are equipped with the latest UNM technology, and are deployed primarily in first encounter operations. Each Lynx is armed with a modified assault rifle designed for caseless ammunition to reduce weight, and a tactical helmet containing multi-spectral optics and an air filtration system.

Lynx Recon Trooper

The Lynx unit will once again come with swappable components just like the Coyote Assault Troopers, so you can mix and match to create some additional variety. Shen Fei has sketched variations with and without their cloaks, so you can get a proper look at the armour underneath.

Lynx Recon Trooper

Let us know what you think about these fantastic additions to the UNM in the comments!

-----------------------

I think they look great, not a massive fan of the coyote troops so if these are unlocked it might push me to getting a UNM force.

I also really like the Lynx recon troopers. The leader is pretty dull however. Same as the Coyote veteran. I have to disagree on the Coyote troops though, I like the look they went for and I saw them played in a game/bat rep/alpha play test and I think they look fantastic.

Unfortunately "wave 2" makes me think we won't see them at all during the KS so you may just want to save your money and go in on the Recons when they're released.

@bocatt Sculpt quality on the coyotes does look fantastic, but their not jumping out as a must buy for me at the moment compared the the cult of the dragon or the deathless.

2 Updates
-------------------------
Free dice, one-click bundles now available as add-ons

Attention survivors!

We've taken a look at the ONE-CLICK TWO-PLAYER BUNDLE and have decided to add some extra value to that pledge by including a set of twenty (20) d10 dice for FREE. We're still finalising things with our supplier so we don't have an exact image of the dice just yet; we'll update you all when we do.

And speaking of extra value, by popular demand we've included the ONE-CLICK FACTION BUNDLES as add-ons for you to increase your pledge for! I know a lot of people have been requesting an easy way to pick up more than one faction, so this is the cheapest way to get a whole bunch of premium resin for more than one faction.

The Children of the One True God have been unlocked!

You did it! Everyone can now pledge for a CHILDREN STARTER FORCE, as well as add the following miniatures to their existing pledge.

Sculpting for the Children of the One True God will be done by Tom Lishman who will begin work soon. Thanks again for your amazing support!

-------------------

Yay ...new faction faction unlocked, tempted to up my pledge for the larger cult of the dragon set during the pledge manager, not got the funds to do more at the moment.

What do you all think of the new faction unlock?

Cool in theory, especially for those "Crusader" type folks that like burning heretics. But not really my speed so probably a pass for me.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Got an update a couple hours ago saying all Wave 1 minis have been opened up as pledge options. Including the new Humanist faction as well as actual Crusaders for the Children of the One True God.

The Phoenix Drone for the Humanists looks pretty intense. I hope to see a sculpt/model render for that soon.

I would write up a real update but I'm on mobile right now. Sorry

71 Hours left. I watched the tutorial and the 36 min game play.

Love how fast it is and the weapon system is cool. Makes is very realistic.

Problem is the cost. I get its low point game/low model game, but the starters are very disappointing.

1 Leader, 3 of the same stat wise scrubs. For about 40 bucks. Fairly standard small skirmish prices, bout 10$ a fig. Just id like a bit more flavor and value in a starter. 1 Leader 3 Scrubs and 1 Specialist for 45 would be more appealing.
