Interlocking tactics doesnt work on Battle Automata and Servo-Automata. Does this include Rapiers?

rapiers are manned by space marines, so I assume that they have the legiones astartes special rule? If so, then yes. if not, then no.

If the rapier unit has the Legiones Astartes special then they count as Battle Automata Servo-Automata?

No, sorry. IF the rapiers have the 'legiones astartes' special rule, then they should benefit from interlocking tactics.

A Rapier Carrier never counts as "Servo-Automata" or "Battle-Automata" because those terms do not appear anywhere in the Rapier Weapons Battery unit entry. The only relevant issue is does the *unit* count as having the Legiones Astartes special rule, even though the Rapier Carrier *model* lacks the rule.

Agreed.

Rapiers are unit type Artillery - whenever artillery fires, you use the ballistic skill and relevant special rules of the crew: in this case, the Legion Astartes (Ultramarines) gunners.

It's no different to an Ultramarine using a fortification's emplaced heavy bolter or quad-gun.

Battle Automata and Servo-automata are units by themselves.

However, Interlocking tactics says "Whenever a unit with the Legiones Astartes (Ultramarines) special rule makes a shooting attack against a target which has already been successfully hit...by another Ultramarines unit".

If you take a Praevian then his Battle Automata gain LA: Ultramarines: " The unit of Battle-automata to which the Legion Praevian is attached gains the Legiones Astartes special rule possessed by
the Legion Praevian"

So you would benefit from any marked target, though the unit would not be able to mark targets themselves

Indeed. The Ultramarines are one of the legions to make best use of the Praevian.
