First and foremost, did you already buy the 6 Imperial Knights? Why 6? Why not just 5 and run Household or Exalted court?

Have you done enough research on forge world knights? Have you considered the Castigator, Atropas, Archeron? Most people try 3 IK and 2 FW Cerrastus Knights. The Castigator can substitute Anti Air Very well!

Can we even get an idea as to what the other half of your army is? Because that is very important.

In my anecdotical experience which Vathaki has said are not valid in any argument or discussion because its not math hammer evidence, using the carapace weapon is just more point sink as a pair of meltaguns for 10pts each has a small chance to remove all 6 hp. Haywire is especially dangerous to SHV because unlike GMC, haywire is not nerfed like poison and sniping.

The link i posted about the invisible triparite lance has had success. Did you even click on that? Or did you just ignore it? What You think it was another joke? Please contact that other player for further advice. He has had better success with IK than I ever will.

And In regards to the unsportsmanlike yady yada, news of an IK player in a new community spreads quicker and is greeted with so much more hate then a player with 5 wraith knights for some reason. Probably because its eldar and people accepted that eldar is overpowered and proceed to lay down and die as grav guns are only the reliable way to deal with one. In a casual game it is perfectly justified for your opponent to tailor his list 100% because neither one of you will have a fun time if he doesn't tailor his list.

So to recap and keep it simple for you.

My ADVICE to you is to not spend points on carapace weapons. I encourage you to try out 5-6 Wardens with House hold detachment or Exalted court. Spend the points you saved on the other half of your army to support the IKs better. Each one is a ticking time bomb. You dont want it to explode because was using ada lance or Baronial Court and one was 3" or 6" too close when an apocalyptic blast goes off.

First of all "wow!" This is what I'm talking about, thank you for this response Now all of a sudden something clicked in my mind and I connected your profile pic, I remembered I've read many posts from you on Dakka on running a knight-heavy army

Lets run through this:
1) I don't have the 6 knights yet. I WILL, one at a time (wife is fine with me buying anything as long as I paint it before I buy the next one ). Originally I planned for them as 3 to begin with as a Baronial court. Then I looked at "what next?" and thought of 6 as Barional+AA.

2) I might need to look more at the FW ones, I read how people would tar pit knights so I thought of getting a Castigator, then I thought if I'm up to 6 knights this is going to be a pretty big battle, meaning they'll bring something big too, so I thought a Lancer would be good. But you say Castigator is a good anti-air as well? That's even better news. But I'll study a bit more up on the FW ones.

3) Regarding the invisible triparite lance link, I have to admit I thought it was either a joke or a complaint, my bad there, I'll check it out.

4) No carapace sounds crazy! ...but just crazy enough so it just might work!

Thanks for taking the time to write all this up for me Filch , I really appreciate it. I'll check these things out and that guy Vathaki. Now to finish painting the damn stuff on my table so I can go get some knights!

Consider the Atrapos. It's a good knife fighter, and the 8" gun is good, as you are generally going to get that close, if not closer, before you charge. It's the only D ranged weapon in the Knights Arsenal, which can be huge. It also gets twin linked if it's firing at a SHV or a GC.

That, and the chance of opening vortices among the enemy ranks is delicious.

Is there a permanent stickied thread for Chaos players to complain every time someone/anyone gets models or rules besides them? If not, there should be.

wow, that's one tough son of a machine god he seems quite interesting

All the FW one's seem to have flanking speed, they would make for an interesting Barional Court running down the middle like a rugby team
...although one of them IS a ticking time-bomb

I guess I ment to say that the Castigator does anti aor the best conpared to the other knights.

You should just take the minimal points on Knights and use the remaining points to get real anti air in the form of flying jet fighters, and getting more obj sec troops.
