Average life span of a guardsman is 14 hours. Average life span of a Space Marine is 70-80 years.

I believe it was from the third Eisenhorn book, from the Inquisitor of Cadia to Eisenhorn. Eisenhorn was asking after some small details of a case long since closed and was getting frustrated the Cadian Inquisitor didn't keep the records but the Cadian Inquisitor replies something along the lines of she had many more important cases to follow up due to the proximity of the populace to Chaos and she had no time to spend galivanting around the cosmos as roving Inquisitors like Eisenhorn did.

I also loved a load of Morr's lines from the Path of the Dark Eldar series, but this was the standout:

Morr giving an angry planetary god-spirit a verbal slap-down and basically telling it 'You don't like it? Then come at me bro'.
