I dig the colors but... the heat effect on the engines is backwards.
Obviously we're talking about Sci-Fantasy flying spaceships and other such fantastic things so realism is probably not the highest priority.
Just the same, the parts of the exhaust (nozzle) that would suffer discoloration due to extreme heat would be the parts closest to the vented fuel exhaust fumes - the parts further from the body, not closer.
Ultimately its something somewhat complex that is visually simple, and your eyes sort of automatically notice.
Other than that it does look good!

I think that the bronze effect is the actual colour of the exhaust and its a burnt effect (soot type effect). Looking at the thrusters underneath they seem to also be a bronze colour so the effect is correct in my eyes.
Really like the alternative scheme for the wolves, good job... i want to start on 30k wolves and want to go for a much darker grey (almost black) so appreciate this scheme!

Not to speak for the artist but I'd assume the 'original' metal color of the thrusters is bronzed, and the end you're seeing is blackened from the heat. This is the correct color pattern in that case.

I can see how the black coloring could be a charring or stripping away from the colors - It's not the first place my mind goes though - but I've been accused of over-thinking things so...
FTR, most thrust vectoring nozzles are made of aluminum/nickel for corrosion resistance and don't stand up to heat well. they are generally left unpainted.
however, if paint were applied, it were certainly melt away at those temperatures, but it would leave the unpainted metal coloring beneath. The 'charring' effect wouldn't be there. The term 'charring' is sued because it happens when burning charcoal. Tiny amounts of coal form deposits on the surface of the metal and burn into it, literally scarring the metal with black debris.
But jet engines most certainly don't run on coal, they run on highly combustible liquid fuel (AVGAS) with additives to prevent gumming. The fumes burning AVGAS leave no scarring, but they would still be hot, and strip paint...
Sorry, I'm ranting for now reason now... regardless of how you see it, it's well painted

I think it was just a conscious design choice on the coloring of the engines. If you look at the multi-meltas on the sponsoons, the barrels have the same coloring effect.
I rather like it from a pure aesthetics point of view.

ummm.....no. Any unburnt fule involving carbon (including avgas) can reuslt in carbon build up; which leads to the black 'soot' effect. Clearest example is on the Tornado flown by RAF, German air force etc. where it employs reverse thrust and leaves a distinctive black mark on the lower part of the tailfin.
I admit that it is more unlikely on the thrusters themsleves but i dont think it is completely unheard of.

Only on Dakka can someone post a cool, well painted model and then see arguments ignite over the color chosen for the engines...
I quite like the way it looks either way!

My lawn mower agrees lol, the exaut vents at the end are blackened. A bit of a issue with mix ratio of gas, and a very interesting fire blast.
