Except, not the same thing as a single Raven Guard model cannot have a relic from both lists. A model allowed to choose from the normal codex relic list can choose to use the Raven Guard instead.

True, it's not exact, but in Farsight Enclaves supplement V 2.0 they removed the "Any character in your army that may select Signature Systems may not select from those listed in Codex: Tau Empire" whether that was intended or not is of course arguable but RAW you make take both in a Farsight Enclave army list.

Tau signature systems should not be confused with Imperial Relics. Sig Systems are new, experimental, or limited production pieces of technology rather than unique, ancient pieces of tech. Tau have always been able to take multiple sig systems on the same character, even though each system could only be taken once. In the the recent edition update, we've seen some Sig Systems become available to everyone, such as the Cyclic Ion Blast.

To recap, I have the two Damocles books and am in the middle of building a FSE army (retaliation cadre + drone net + OSC detatchement). In these books it states, "Any character in a FSE detatchement or formation that may select signature systems uses the signature systems of the FSE instead of the signature systems from codex: Tau Empire"

I know they released they recently released the FSE stand alone codex but being that it was all the same rules and fluff (from what I've heard/read) I wasn't going to pick it up. Am I correct in assuming there is a note of some kind in that supplement book which y'all are referencing that states you CAN take signature systems from codex: Tau Empire? If you are fielding a FSE army and if so could you copy it below? I'd love to take the neuroweb system jammer on my commander of possible.

It says you can take signature systems from either book in the tablet version of FSE. It specifically says FSE or Tau Empire, not instead of.

Wouldn't hold my breath for an FAQ, either.

Why would it get FAQ'd? It specifically says FSE in addition to TE

It say you can use both TE and FSE sig systems in both the physical book and the BL digital copy; however, it still says "instead of" in the iBook digital copy (because GW fails at consistency). GW customer support has stated that the physical book and BL download are correct, eith ghe iBook version to be updated at some unknown time in the future.

Suffice it to say, FSE can use both FSE and TE sig systems as of the latest re-release of the FSE suppliment.
