Subject: New Deathwatch book bundle... With CS Goto
After checking my Warhammer app, I noticed the new one-month Deathwatch book bundle... and I also noticed GW put CS Goto's Warrior Coven into the mix. Is the Bundle even worth buying at that point?
H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!

He's written a couple of ok short stories, Trial of the Mantis Warriors being one. I would get it if you are interested in finding out about the Deathwatch. It might not be accurate, but you might find it entertaining.

Warrior Coven wasn't the worst thing he ever wrote.
I think the most egregious sin was the assault marine flying around and killing a harridan bio-titan with a chainsword.

Nah, the worst one was Eldar abandoning their "inferior" tanks in favor of looting Leman Russes.
Lelith Hesperax being the leader of planet named Hesperax in the Eye of Terror, servant of Slaanesh and sorceress (I guess he confused wyches with actual witches) takes the cake for me. She also has the luxury of dying by planet explosion.

I guess a Russ isn't as vulnerable to the "Space Marine Jump Pack Anti-Tank Missile, Model One Mark One" as a Wave Serpent.
From Dawn of War: Ascension:
Spoiler:
"With a blinding blast of red light, the Assault Marine's jump-pack went critical and its fuel cells detonated, firing him down towards the ground like a giant bolter shell. Even from where he was standing, Gabriel could see the Marine was working to release the grenades that were clipped around his belt, flinging them down into the formation of eldar below him even as he rocketed down towards them. The disciplined aliens seemed unphased (sic) for a fraction of a second, holding their firing vectors until they realised what was about to happen. Then, as the xenos creatures began to scatter away from the Wave Serpents, the string of grenades smacked into the ground and detonated all at once, blowing a huge crater into the desert and rocking the nearest Wave Serpent. In an instant, the Marine's jump-pack roared down towards the vehicle, spiralling on its axis now that it had been jettisoned by the Marine himself, until it punched heavily into the gunnery cockpit on top of the Wave Serpent, blowing it clean off the vehicle and engulfing the whole thing in a giant red fireball. The Marine himself ploughed down into the desert nearby." -

Neither of those happened in Warrior Coven. I was specifically referring to that single book. :p
Goto wrote Eldar Prophesy, for crying out loud. Nothing else he ever spewed from his keyboard could ever be worse than that.

There is the Graphic Novel Deathwatch, the Novel of the same name, and the short story Xenos Hunters.
The epic Deathwatch novel by Steve Parker, but it still includes CS Goto...

Xenos Hunters is actually a collection of short stories, not just one.
Deathwatch by Steve Parker was actually a pretty enjoyable read with a good sense of the different chapters involved and how they chafe with each other. It desperately needs a sequel.
Mission: Purge is pretty generic but also has some fun banter (and confirms the Rainbow Warriors still exist and are an Ultra marines successor.)
Those three add up to just about the price of the bundle, and everything besides (including Got) is basically gravy.

Do you know if the Mission: Purge book is available by itself? I'd rather dodge Goto as much as possible.

It is, it's right there on the site. (And at $16 Canadian I don't think it's worth the money.)
There's like four other items in the bundle that aren't by Goto as well.
I have read the Deathwatch novel and the short stories, but I really am only looking at Mission: Purge.

Have you ever watched a crappy b-movie or read crappy fanfiction and had fun just laughing at how bad it is? If so, you might very well enjoy C.S. Goto.

I meant "lone," but wrote loan. I guess crushing debt can ID a Librarian.
