Subject: Better Inquisition Vehicle Option: Chimera vs Razorback.

Hey mates. i currently plan to get a small Inquisition force to go with my IG Army and I have basically two routes I can go. Besides taking Inquisitor Coteaz or Lok with a Squad of DC Assassins in a Land Raider, I am debating between the following options:
* 2x to 3x Squads of 12x Henchmen w/Flak Armor, 9x with Bolters or Storm Bolters, 3x Plasma Guns. Will be mounted in Chimeras with Turret and Hull-Mounted Hvy. Bolters, and possibly a Pintle Mounted SB with Psybolt Ammunition.
* 2x to 3x Squads of 6x Henchmen with Flak or Carapace Armor, 3x with Bolters or Storm Bolters, 3x Plasma Guns. Will be mounted in Razorbacks with Twin-Linked Assault Cannon and a Pintle Mounted SB with Psybolt Ammunition.
Those are my current options I am debating at the moment, and I am more then willing to field Inquisitor Lok's personal Henchmen Squad the same way in either a Chimera or Razorback squads listed above. Both are solid options, but it is basically boiling down between would the Multiple S6 Hvy. Bolter shots or the 4x Twin-Linked S7 Rending Assault Cannon shots. Thoughts?

Chimera wins it for me, especially since the Inquisition gets the old version. Larger capacity, more fire points, better front armor and much better weapon systems.

I like to run my Inq acolytes in a chimera (2x heavy bolter and psy ammo) with 3 plasma gunners, 1 psyker (throwing out psychic shriek) and 1 jokero (modeled as a hotwired ork mek). Depending on points Ill add extra bolter acolytes if I want some extra bodies. Inq chimeras can have 5 models shoot out the top hatch which is amazing.

Agreed more fire points, and cheaper than the IG version. I also do dual Hbolter with psybolt. but usually dont spring for the storm bolter.
And I always drop in one psyker per squad...two powers (from specialization) and even if youre not using them, they are the cheapest warp charge batteries you will find.
Last thing, since you can kit out each acolyte individually, the carapace armor on the plasma ones are worth it...with the Inq plasma gun only being 10 points youre still coming in cheaper than if it was a guardsmen, and you have a 50% to survive that gets hot.

Appreciate the replies so far mates. I had been leaning towards the Chimeras overall, as FA12 is always a good option and the S6 Hvy. Bolter shots are nice as well. However, not denying that I am still tempted by the Assault Cannon Razorbacks is I'm honest. Since they also can get Psybolt Ammunition, the idea of S7 Rending Assault Cannon shots does sound very appealing. Or do Razorbacks suck now?

Psybolt Dual heavy bolter Chimera. 6 shots instead of 4 a better armour value and better transport options if you really need it.

6x shots are better then 4x, true. But the Chimera has 6x standard at BS3, whereas the Razorbacks are BS4 and is Twin-Linked. Chimera can carry more and has better armor but I am still tempted due to the S7, Rending shots.

Chimeras. Note that Chimeras can pack two heavy weapons AND has a crapton of fire points (it's still using the old 5th edition version of the rules so those lasgun emplacements are actually firepoints) making it far better as a mobile gunship. The Razorback only has it's back gun going for it, and in effect it's essentially a very expensive, more accurate servitor (your henchmen squads will almost definitely be too large to be transported inside and they can't fire at all out of it).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.
