Alright, so here is a space marine/imperial guard list that I've been putting together. I basically have no idea what I'm doing and flying by the seat of my pants. I've learned a lot from looking at other peoples lists and researching as much as possible. Any input is welcome.
+++ SM +IG (1500) +++
Space Marines 845
Chapter Tactics: Imperial Fists
HQ (230)
Captain Lysander (230)
Attached to terminators
Elites (175)
Terminator Assault Squad (175)
The plan is to deep strike with Lysander
Troops (300pts)
Tactical Squad (195) [10x Space Marines, heavy bolter x1, flamer x1
···Rhino
Will separate these into two squads. Was thinking the flamer and heavy bolter would stay in rhino and continue forward to harass the enemy while the 2nd 5 man would secure an objective.
You are missing a second tank for your tank commander. (He always must have at least 1 buddy in his squad)
It is worth putting the carapace armor on your plasma vets for the get hot rolls.
The MM on your eradicators is out of place. You have an anti infantry tank with anti armor guns. You will be better off with more heavy bolters, and dealing with armor another way.
Why no specials in your tac squads? Why 8 models?
What tactics do you plan on using for SM?
I think your SMHQ is too generic...he isnt shooty, he isnt choppy enough to be dangerous, and he doesnt buff other units at all. I would consider a librarian or going all out on him and putting him with your terminators.

Thank you for responding
I think I goofed while editing the battlescribe for the tank commander, the points should be right though.
The reason for the meltas was I play dark eldar a lot and he runs engines with his hq. I thought the meltas might help when he inevitability deep strikes by me.
As far as the TAC squads, it's basically coming down to units that I currently own and my lack of knowledge on how best to utilize the units.
My strategy would be to move the rhinos up on either side and try and have the Chimera capture objectives behind cover and assist the SM if the chance arose. The terms would just stomp up as quickly as I could. Thought about a drop pod for them, but I'm not sure about the usefulness. With your input on the tank commander I will probably just park him in the back. Maybe with the terms and shoot at range.
I'm more of an army modeling guy and collector. I'm just now getting in to playing and trying to make lists with what own. Roughly 1k SM, IG, CSM and necrons. I've only ever played a handful of games and only necrons at that.
I'm not against spending some money to make a better list either.
Thanks for your input.

Well your tac squads are equally good at taking objectives as the guard, and your guard are more shooty because of the chimera weapons and the plasma/melta.
Remember your rhinos and chimeras are also obsec for holding objectives, you can dump your tacs off somewhere and chase objectives with the rhinos.
Is the lascannons and MLdevs for the units you own? or do you have other options?
Honestly your chapter tactics have some bearing on your tac squad/dev loadouts.
Your terminators will probably be best off deep striking where they are needed most.

Good info
The dev squad was an eBay rescue, so unfortunately they are the only options.
I haven't looked at chapter tactics too much. I understand it'd be a lot to ask about them on here, but where is the best place to learn about them?
