hey, so for fluff reasons, I need some Necrons, grey knights and an imperial knight.

trying to make something somewhat competitive
here are my thoughts so far:

retribution phalanx
3 scarabs
overlord
triarch
15 warriors in a night scythe

grey knights

librarian
5 termies with halberds
deadknight with PT, sword and incinerator

anyone ever run necrons with grey knights? how successful is it? i have done it in doubles and it works well there, but im worried about the come the apocalypse rules in a normal match.

I'm kind of curious what your fluff reasons are for this combination?

Greyknights and Necrons could work together if you use the Necrons to hold the back field and the Grey Knights to Deep Strike into offense. That way they won't be near each other for Come the Apocalypse rules.

What sort of missions are you going to play?

Just make sure your knight doesn't kill them, I would drop night scythe, or is there a special reason you used it?

Trazyn the Infinite was investigating a knight titan when draigo and some terminators popped out of the warp from a different time, when grey knights were in the middle of trading for terreract labrynths. Trazyn was quick to capatilise on this and offered a lot more for the cerastus knight which was the last one he needed for his collection. As the deal was going down, it was interrupted. (my son and me came up with this, so while its plausable but unlikely, i want to stick with it.. knight is painted up with a heap of rust etc.)

night scythe was for a bit of AA , termies/dreadknight were to rush up one side with the knight, scarabs were to run into the middle where they would delay things, night scythe can drop warriors on a point and stalker can support em is the plan

I really like that, that's pretty cool.

Anywho the Necron part of the list looks good but you won't want the warriors in a Night Scythe
