Granted the fact that WK are much better investments - what would you arm your Wraith Lord with if you had to bring it. Say for your wraith host? Or maybe you had 160ish points to spare and a Wraith Lord fits the bill?

Personally I think there are two optimal load outs due to the strange pricing of the weapons on the WL.

-2BL and 2 flamer and sword
-no weapons and 2 flamers and sword

What do you think?

Personally I am running mine with either Dual Star cannons or bright lances and two flamers as well as a ghost glaive just because I had 5 Points left over. Really gives me a lot of Versatility and since the star cannons and bright lances are the same points makes them interchangeable.

19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.
40k/HH Night Lords 5000pts.
Orks Waaaghmacht Spearhead 2500pts.

Loathe to say it but I'm not a fan of the Wraithlord, that said sword and the duel flamers and Ghostglaive would be my choice

I use mine as a heavy-weapons platform, and backfield deterrent.
So, a pair of 'long ranged' BL or Starcannon, flamers and a sword.

Is it worth the points as a slow sword with flamers? A wraith is usually on-par with most opponents, where-as there are better options in the codex for a better equivalent. Their statline has a high S and T, but that's the only good part.

IDK. I think giving it some ranged weapons gives it some relevance. 5 point sword is a no brainier - flamers seem to be a no brainier. All the weapons are over-costed it seems. The only investments that seem to make sense are BL and StarC - but with BL being the better of the two weapons.

In a lot of armies a 165 point MC with 2 BL and decent survivability isn't a bad option - but in this eldar book it's a real sub-optimal choice. Even a squad of striking scorpions sounds better to me. I wish they gave it an invo save or a 5+fnp.

I've taken a Wraithlord a number of times attempting to force the Wraith Host to function. Sword and Flamers seemed about the only time he earned points back.

So no luck with the wraith host? 3 Units of WG is just too much I guess.

I've been running dual scatter lasers, dual flamers and the sword... it looks awesome, but also it is the ultimate anti-horde wraithlord IMHO
