Hey everyone!

Not much output from me these days, with real life beckoning. But I did manage to squeeze in a bit of terrain and update my Baal Secundus city board. I've decided that once finished, it will be an 8x6 table, with 6x4 as a real of battle city board, and 6x4 over lava.

The latest additions are a pair of Bastions. They're about as plain a model as they come from GW, which actually adds a little bit of work to make them "fit" with the Cities of Death stuff (which is highly decorated). There are some other Wall of Martyr and other pieces floating around on the table, like some emplacements and bunkers, but they're obscured or not easy to see, and I didn't really have time to do a bunch of photography angles.

Hope you like it! Thank you in advance for all comments and criticism.

Nice, just what I was looking for. Not a lot of people post pictures of their painted bastions. I needed inspiration and this will do well.

Yeah, the usual paint job on bastions is a little less than inspiring. Partly, this is because of the models -- they're just not that detailed, so you have to work at it a bit to make them not boring; plus, they're not modular, so unless you're just stealing the mid-section for some other building project, there's only one way to build them (okay, the bolters for the weird window icons, I guess...).

Incidentally, it's a little hard to see on the photography, one way I spruced up the sides a bit was that I lightly dry brushed them in random areas with thunderhawk blue. If I wanted to spend some more time, I would have probably airbrushed some art onto them, but I couldn't settle on something. I also considered attaching some vertical banners, and left a couple of sides unadorned to make that possible in the future.
