I was putting together some metal models and sometimes I just can't keep it up (Sometimes it falls off) do i have to hold it up, or stick it too something?

What glue are you using?

Metal minis are tougher to assemble. Sometimes (often, really) you need to pin joints. And/or greenstuff gaps to get a good connection.

well,

1) what glue are you using? make sure it's super glue, not plastic glue
2) pinning is generally recommended, but not needed.
3) apply you're glue, hold the bit there until the glue sets.

beyond that, I'm not sure what to tell you. Maybe make sure that you have no extra old glue gunk there that could interupt the bits from gluing together.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

What can sometimes help is scoring the area you're going to be applying glue to. It doesn't help that much for a really tiny join, but it can make a difference.

For some metal models (such as the cursed Nightbringer), it's manditory to pin them:

This is a myth.

Superglue works best when it has two completely flat surfaces to work with. Scoring the surface being glued doesn't make the glue set any faster (more like the opposite) and results in a weaker bond.

For the OP: you need to hold the pieces until the glue sets. The time this takes varies depending on the specific glue used and the weather conditions.

Scoring is good for epoxy, not ca glue.

I agree completely with pinning. I had a rune priest model that the axe would not stay on at all, so I got smart and pinned it then later went back and pinned an old chaos sword and I'm gonna try to find a metal staff in my bits box eventually to have it swappable. If you don't want to go that far, then like they said super glue or if it would work like a servo arm or something you can make a kind of labrum like structure with green stuff to prevent it form coming out.

If you're having trouble getting two surfaces to stick together, stick a small amount of freshly-mixed greenstuff in the joint. It fills in the gaps between pieces and gives the CNA glue something to hold onto across the entire joining surface.

Try a little Viagra. I hear that if you keep it up for four hours you should see a doctor though...and definitely see a doctor if it falls off...

Oh, you're keeping MODELS up...

OP, yes, pinning seems like the way to go. Using GS to fill the joins sounds like it could help too. Good luck!
