Since no one has posted it yet, I am stealing the opportunity.
From the "Deathwatch vs Genestealer Cult boardgame rumors" thread:
Sad Panda wrote: the_Armyman wrote:So, is this another offering from the fledgling Specialist Games Studio or is this a GW Main Studio product?
This is main studio. It is in hard plastic and the miniatures can be used in 40K without conversions.
People underestimate the lead time on those boxed games / starter sets in plastic.
The Deatwatch game was finished by the time EF was released.
The AoS-themed boxed game you'll see this summer was finished by the time the AoS starter was released.
The second HH boxed game this fall was finished by the time Calth was released.
The specialist games studio was launched a little more than a month ago. The teased Blood Bowl stuff was probably the first work this team did after starting their new jobs in January. It will likely be among the first things they will release, and I don't think they are aiming for 2016.
Sad Panda wrote:Warhams-77 wrote:
Calth II is rumored to be released in Fall 2016 so in about 7-9 months from now by Sad Panda.
I wouldn't call it Calth II or a Calth sequal.
It's a boxed game during the Heresy. There are Space Marines. Similarities end there.

Nice! The last set was pretty awesome. I would love to see two pre heresy rhinos in the box this time.

Except, you know, that not what quotes are actually for.
But, irrespective of that, this is pretty old info, why start a new thread now?

Or it denotes the game as being part of the collection of GW products called the Horus Heresy. In that case, the quotes are entirely appropriate as you put the titles of collections in quotes. Can we stop with the grammar lesson now? Geez.

Here are my 2 pence.
From the weekender it looks like Inferno is due at the end of the year, so Thousand Sons vs Space Wolves something a lot of people have been asking about since FW started all this.
Could GW capitalist on this with a Prospero style game?

My hopes:
Hex-based board game with same base mechanic as B@C but more open/uses more sections, compatible with B@C sections.
MkIII power armoured minis, speeders/bikes, non-marine "special" units e.g. Human "spire guard" or Custodes.
P.S. Has anyone tried to house rule other weapons into B@C?

Not other weapons per se, but one fella on boardgamegeek has statted up Genestealers and made a fan project deck of tactics cards and, I think, SOBs.
More on topic, I'm wondering if this new rumored game will be out by end of 2016 or if it's pushed to next year.
Also wondering what they'll be putting in the box since Execution Force, BaC and DWOK have been pretty decent as games in their own right.

If Sad Panda says that similarity end with board game and Space Marines, I highly doubt there will be compability.

That would be very sad indeed. The core mechanic with the funky dice is actually really solid.

So is this the Battle of Phall that was rumored? MK3 with boarding marines and such?

That's what I read somewhere -- that would be very awesome, if true. Mk3 is one of my favorite armor marks. It's the nicest "heavy" armor, IMO.

The Marine Standing Behind Marneus Calgar

At the rate I paint, one BaC sized box a year should keep me well stocked for projects. If they keep with the same value for the box, and don’t include any legion specific stuff, I’m game.
Knowing that it’s coming helps a lot. I would not have had the funds for Calth if I hadn’t seen the leaks before hand. Going to start budgeting for this now.
I’d love for the next box to complement BaC. Different unit types, HQs, armor marks. But if there is some overlap, I’m still good with that. One thing about 30k; you can never have too many warm bodies.

This is total speculation, but Iron Armour + shields would make total sense to flesh out the core choices in plastic, present something visually different and lend themselves well to some sort of boarding action/Space Hulk-esque game.

I'm nearly 100% sure it would be 28mm, but I know I sure as hell would buy an Epic Horus Heresy game!

I have a notion that when the SGS get around to their version of an Epic system, that it will be a HH game. That is, of course, totally appropriate and fitting.
But we know (via Atia or Panda, forget which) that the first of the true Specialist Games (ie not essentially a vehicle for mini sales with a board game element) will be Blood Bowl and will be next year.
So, purely by extrapolation this'll be 30mm
