So I'm just curious as to where everyone goes to see what is supposedly coming down the pipeline. I've been checking the News and Rumors board, but that thing is seriously a mess with little to no organization. Are there specific blogs or website you like to frequent? Are you looking at WD? I see a lot of threads and post stating "I heard X" and "Y said he/she can confirm . . ." Where is all this information coming from? I've had a lot of downtime at work today. Just thought it might be nice to kill some time by looking at 40k rumors.

Well, the blogs don't have good rep but there's BOLS and Feait212 or however you spell it. The most reliable stuff is from people who pop their heads in here from time to time in various and often non relating threads. I'm not mentioning names for obvious reasons. There may also be other sites to visit but i don't pay attention to them so can't help there sorry.

Here from Dakka. I'm not that curious.
Bols and Feait are not reliable, not at all.

Faeit is a great source to get tidbits when you casually browse. Then back over here for proper News and Rumors threads on the subjects I come across and want to actually follow.
The issue I have with News and Rumors forums is the countless people saying 'oh this looks cool' or 'oh this looks stupid' or just generally speaking their opinion (on a public forum? How dare they!) and burying the actual information in 6+ pages of drivel. It makes casually checking in on a subject almost impossible. I have to get invested elsewhere before I'll sift through the dozens of voices saying nothing.

That's what I meant about News and Rumors being a mess. It's hard enough finding a topic you might be interested in after skimming through all the thread titles about the Hello Kitty Island Adventure Kickstarter Just Added A New Stretch Goal!! etc.

You know, in the not-too-distant past, like a year or two, the rumor mill was relatively reliable. We'd have a pretty good idea of what was coming out with a month's or so notice.
To be honest, I always wondered if GW was intentionally leaking the info just to create buzz. I always thought it was funny, imagining a GW staffer taking the worst, blurriest picture possible to intentionally leak it.
But lately, hell. We're lucky to know what's coming out a week in advance.
I asked a GW store about it, and they said they fired their publisher not too long ago, and then all the leaks magically stopped.
As for rumors nowadays, there's little to no accuracy that I can tell anymore. The rumors that are true usually are like days ahead of the official release.

A lot of "leaks" in the entertainment industry are 100% intentional, so I can see that being the case. It could be that the new management decided that wanted to stop this practice to limit product hype to a week or two instead of a month or two. This can sometimes build the "gotta have it first" mentality that some customers get. I honestly think it's a less-effective marketing strategy (when you're talking about products that often cost $50-$150+, it's usually a good idea to give customers time to prepare for the purchase), but GW didn't ask me.

Any GW release will get its own thread in N+R, generally the OP will be updated regularly, so just refer to that if you don't wish to pollute your mind with the thoughts of others.
Or one could easily scroll over the single liners and one paragraph posts which invariably have no material content in them.
This is the largest wargaming community online, any news that breaks anywhere will find its way here, often in a matter of minutes.

Bols, I know it has a terrible rep, but it's like a guilty pleasure. There's a lot of click bait, and a lot of ads. But I don't browse rumours for accuracy, I browse them for fun. So I don't mind so much.
I also keep a regular eye on the rumour section here.
