Bah at the Varghulf being included (if I got the name right). Anything non-plastic is a no buy for me.

Funny they seem to have made a new unit out of an existing kit.

Also, the GW AoS Facebook page is holding a competition for the best-painted Orruk this month, with a prize at the end.

To be fair, the resin GW uses for "finecast" now is of a better quality. More like FW resin nowadays.

Too soon for the board game! I am still painting DW:O - maybe I'll get this for Christmas lol.

And do the flesh-eaters really have enough units to warrant an entire battletome? If they do one of the tie in novellas like they did with Pestilens and Fyreslayers it could be an interesting to read.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Have to admit I am super nervous about the warhammer quest game. I saw that Mark Harrison is doing a special secret presentation at warhammer fest. I think it is fair to say that he is not my favourite designer (minotaurs, obliterators, the current Tzeentch horrors).
I really hope they knock this out of the park. I am also super curious about the contents. If only Sad Panda were here to share a little more knowledge. I think I am going to have a heart attack waiting for the next seven or so days to see pictures. For context Hero quest was the game that got me into the hobby.

Eh, they have about as many as say Ironjawz; Terrorgheist, Ghoul King, Ghoul King on Terrorgheist (if separate) Crypt Horrors, Crypt Flayers, Ghouls, Varghulfs, Vargheists? 6-8.

No Vargheists. They could do with a couple of clam packs, but they are almost on par with the other recent mini armies.

Same here, HeroQuest also got me into the hobby. I hope it will be good, but right now, I'm not hyped for it. Definetely need some leaks. If it turns out to look good, the purchase is already cleared with the wife

Yeah, I read your post on warseer about that presentation. While I like the current horrors they're still a far cry from the old ones and the Minotaurs are thrash, only the Rat Ogre plastics being worse monsters, IMO. Let'S hope for the best.

I remain optimistic, but this is going to have some serious competition in order to get it to the table.

Some of the current crop of Kickstarters are going to be pushing into similar territory and it's going to take a lot of pizzazz from GW to make me stop paying attention to those.

I could have sworn we were hearing solid details about Deathwatch quite a bit earlier than the game's preorder phase too.

Hopefully more secrets will spill from the Silver Towers...

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

The advantage it has over those kickstarters is that it will actually be out in a couple of weeks. Massive darkness will probably not be out for a year or so.

Battletome: Everchosen has 3 if I recall correctly...

Hah, one of the rare artworks where the Stormcast are getting pwned.

It's funny when it's not your Stormhost. (Only the faithful! )

Lots to look forward to.

Crypt Flayers? These seem to have passed me by.

Haha, true! 3 new units at least - same for the Ironjawz and Fyreslayers. I guess this is similar in scope to the Pestilens but they still feel less like a real faction for some reason.

I'm curious about Silver Tower. My head tells me it's going to be too expensive for what we'll get, but my heart wants it to be worth the money.

Very curious about what's going to come in the set though. Already have Dungeon Saga, Descent and the D'n'D Boardgames for my dungeoning needs, but like many others here an early introduction to gaming was Heroquest.

I dunno, Betrayal at Calth and Deathwatch: Overkill both definitely seemed worth it to me.

*Shrug* can't say I feel the same, but that might be because I'm bored by the Heresy and more space marines. I like Dungeon stuff and past Tzeentch aesthetics have been gorgeous (the previous generation of horrors for example), so maybe this will be more my cup of tea.

Ah yes, seen them now. I wonder if GW will do this more in future (make a third option from an existing dual Kit by mixing the parts).

That giant set looks cool. I would love to have 9 crypt horrors!

If it's up for preorder that day maybe they'll be demoing it at WarhammerFest. They will have a dedicated boardgame section there.

Mildly interested in the Flesh Court too. I like all those models so if the bundle is good value I might pick it up.

I want to make Fallout Trogs out of the Ghouls and use the terrorgheist and stuff for my Mantic Undead.

There have been reports of them sending advance copies of their board games out to their shops so that they can demo it the day of preorders, so I would be very surprised if they weren't demoing it.

Not even a single leaked image of the new board game yet? I'm really excited to see what they do with it, and how similar it will be to the original Warhammer Quest...or if it is a completely different game tagged with the the Quest logo to get more nostalgic fans to bite?

Not a bad price, considering you're getting 9 Large Infantry, two monsters and a few troops.

Atm it would cost £161 for the stuff separately. I'm guessing Ghouls will get a slight reduction when they're reboxed from 10 to 20, but still not too bad. And it'll be available from retailers so can get it discounted too.

I'm also thrilled to hear they will be bringing back the 'pink horrors split into two blue horrors when you kill them' as a thing.
I loved the metal horrors that were just before the current plastics, as they showed some of them bursting out of others...I tried to think of a way to get that feel with the plastic ones without a ton of re-sculpting/green-stuff work. Im hoping we get some hybrid of the current models mixed with the swirling, maddened, 'splitting' theme of the metal ones.

Those old metal horrors were the balls. Everyone raves about the Daemonettes, and they were nice, but those Horrors were miles better.

I miss the metal deamonettes and horrors from that period.

The splitting rule is on the current Horror warscroll but basically equates to an extra attack on death. I'm not sure we'll get actual model interaction for the little blue guys (outside of the board game).

Unless we get a new unit type for Horrors too.
