So, as the title suggests, this list is primarily a competitive list I've been working on, designed to deal with armies that will spam vehicles/SH's, MC's/GC's, or flyers. It's a little niche, but I'm curious about peoples thoughts as I've tried to work in units to give it flexibility too.

Emperor's Shield Infantry Platoon - 346 pts

-PCS (PLT commander w/boltgun)
-Infantry Squad (sgt w/melta bombs, Vox caster)
-Infantry Squad (sgt w/melta bombs)
-Infantry Squad (sgt w/melta bombs)
-Infantry Squad (sgt w/melta bombs)
-Infantry Squad (sgt w/melta bombs)
-1X sentinel w/multi-laser

AM Combined Arms Detachment - 294 pts

-Company Command Squad (4x melta guns, plasma pistol, vox)
-Veteran Squad (Forward Sentries, Vox Caster, Autocannon Team, 1x sniper rifle)
-Veteran Squad (Forward Sentries, Vox Caster, Autocannon Team)
-1x ministorum priest


Tactical Plan:
-The vet squads will sit back and hold points within my own field and/or protect the artillery while using their autocannons to try and break any light vehicles.
-The Infantry blob and PCS will be tasked with moving up and contesting/claiming objectives in the mid field. The ministorum priest will join the infantry blob to make it fearless.
-The artillery will pound anything in the enemy army that looks like a good target, though it will more likely focus on anti- infantry with the ignores cover and TW granted by the formation rules with the voxes.
-The CCS in chimera will of course sit back with the artillery to issue orders to them, using the range of the multi-laser to try and do HP's to any light vehicles.
-The 3 command squads that are not in chimeras will start the game in the vendettas. When they come in they will be dedicated anti-tank/MC/GC/SH as the flyers will come in flying mode and grav chute insert them without error per the formation rules. The CCS's will order themselves to be TW/MC and TH/ignores cover as the circumstance dictates and dump 4 BS4 meltaguns into each of their targets. The Vendettas will prioritize their fire at any flyers on the board, if there are none, they will help the CCS's take out their targets the turn they come in with their 3 TW lascannons.

Please let me know you're thoughts on this list. I realize it is a bit lacking on as far as bodies on the ground, but in my experience IG has always struggled most with killing MC's/MC's and this list will thoroughly murder those, as well as any flyers for that matter. If you have any suggestions for improvement please feel free to mention them.

I believe your battle group command is only 100 points. At least it should be. 60 for CCS 10x4 melta.

Also are you just going for the platoon formations just for move through cover? If not you can throw a regular platoon in the CAD for cheaper w/o the sentinel, and gain ObSec. Also it looks like you are blobing up all 50 into one squad. remember if you are going to do that you are only able to control one objective with them at a time. It might be better to do 2 platoons of 30 with PCSs in tow.

And if you can find the points vox casters on everything is great for the artillery formation.

Woops! I forgot to add some equipment that was missing from the CCS's in that list. I've updated it. They're supposed to have vox's so that when they grav chute behind enemy lines that 18inch vox rule won't be such a hindrance as far as the artillery company goes.

I really like the LR ABG idea, my only concern with it is that it leaves me with little to no anti-flyer, which the vendettas handle very well. I will say I'm probably going to revise this list as I think I agree with you about the blob platoon. The sentinel just isn't really worth it just for the move through cover rule. With the points I save I can buy another priest and have the flexibility of splitting up the blobs for 2 fearless blobs.

I'm not a huge fan of the 15 point plasma pistols I have on the company commanders right now, so I may also just do away with those and use those extra points to create a conscript squad so that I don't even have to split up the infantry blob.

Here is my revised list. With the points I saved by doing away with the sentinel, the sniper rifle, 1 infantry squad, and the expensive plasma pistols, I was able to fit in a blob of 38 conscripts and another priest to make them fearless so that I can have 2 fearless blobs on the field and a lot more bodies. The tactics are the same as the original list, but with the addition of the conscript squad either sitting back a bit to deal with enemies in my back field, or moving up with the infantry blob, depending on whether the enemy has DS/really fast units. Overall I think it has a bit better flexibility.
