Hi All,

Getting started for an escalation league that is coming up. I had the starter and then bought some toys so i think i might have overdone it a bit. My idea was to start with Valkia the bloody and maybe a chariot for speed. Our first game is 50 wounds, with up to 15 wounds allowed to be allocated to heros/monsters/wizards combo.

Any suggestions on a comp to run? My current set-up would be Valkia, Warshrine, Gorbeast chariot, and 5 Skullcrushers. I dont know much about the comps so is that mean/overpowered/underpowered/etc? In the interest of escalation I could probably mix in the starter set for a less toy-heavy list.

Currently have:
starter
Valkia the Bloody
Warshrine
6 Mighty Skullcrushers
Gorebeast Chariot

Good to see another Bloodbound player!

I'm still working on my collection, so I've yet to actually play a game. But, from what I've read, you're off to a great start.

The Warshrine is just fast enough to keep up with the Skullcrushers, if you're looking to synergize it's abilities with them.

Groups of multi-wound models are, I hear, very good, even without the wound allocation shenanigans some have advocated, so the Skullcrushers should be survivable.

Depending on your budget, the Blood Reavers can be had at about $1 each on Ebay, and with an equally cheap Bloodsecrator and the Warshrine you already have they go from being very mediocre to rather threatening.

When you're done making your army, be sure to post some pictures in the AOS pictures thread, I'd love to see it. And, in the meantime, I'll keep plugging away at mine, and hopefully one day actually get to play this game.

With the list you have right now all I can think of is to add a sorcer and/or a big monster. The Slaughterbrute is very good.

I would add a Bloodsecrator hero (essentially a Khorne Battle Standard bearer) from the starter box (5 wounds, save 3+, awesome banner ability) and move down to 4 skull crushers. The Bloodsecrator's banner adds +1 attacks to all Khorne units within 18" and makes all your units within 18" immune to battle shock. The combination of the Bloodsecrator and the Chaos Warshrine is decent. For additional buffs, you could also bring a Skullgrinder hero or an Aspiring Death Dealer (as general).

I would not add a Slaughter Brute since you are Khorne Blood Bound and not Slaves to Darkness (Slaughter Brute gets a buff from Slaves to Darkness). Also, the Slaughter Brute is 14 wounds, and if you are capped at 15 wounds for heroes/monsters combined, you would go over with Valkia and the slaughter brute.

He said he has the starter box in his list already.
