Except for the extra genestealer cult figures, there are really too many unique characters. I'm just wondering if it's worth it to buy another set and then sell off the rest.

If you plan on using the DW minis as "counts as", I could see a need for a second set. If you wanted to use Jetek as Khan on his bike and Setorax as Shrike, I could see you wanting a second set so you could have one set painted up as Deathwatch.

You could either go down that route, and probably make most of your money back, or just buy the genestealer models on ebay.

I have Jatek as a counts-as Khan. Looks pretty good but I had to remove all of the death watch symbols which was a pain.

“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

I'll be using Jensus Natorian in my Blood Ravens army. Decided to paint him in standard Librarius blue, but I kept the DW iconography and colors on his left arm. I also painted Setorax as a Blood Raven and will be using him as a captain. Left his left arm DW as well. I decided that these two models were just so proud of there service in the Deathwatch that they decided to wear the colors with pride alongside their chapter colors.

Marines that served in the Deathwatch often continue to wear the DW shoulder guard once they return to their chapter.

Oddly...no. I feel like the move by gw to purposely make all the marines non-generic, produce no generic DW rules and strictly limit the good gsc formation to strictly the models in the box was specifically to target the resale market and try to stop what occurred en made with BAC.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

I'm sure you're not wrong in this, but we are expecting rules for both DW and GSC armies to be released eventually (some say by the end of the year). DW will likely just get a supplement, but given that the next board game that was leaked/announced (Lost Patrol) also features Gene Stealers, I'm starting to think they may actually get a full codex at least akin to the one Harlequins have in terms of size.
