https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1620164718/star-trooper-miniatures/

EDIT- FUNDED. 50 dollar pledge gets you ten figures with ten unique sculpts now.

This one just popped up today.

Jeff Rodman design, Bobby Jackson sculpts.

50 dollars, starts at 8 figures in 5 different poses, and as goals are met goes up to 10 figures in just as many poses.

Early birds get a free medic included as well.

Also requisite scale shot.

There's videos up on the actual Kickstarter page showing off the various completed poses.

Saw that and really like the minis!

Good luck to them

My only problem for me is trying to find a use for them. Are there any Song of Blades and Heroes style simple skirmish rulesets for sci fi?

Actually, there is a ruleset Ganesha makes using the Song engine.

Mutants and Rayguns. Which might be seeing some supplements in the near future as well.

I want to paint these guys up in yellows or oranges. Something about them makes me think mining operations/ hazardous materials duty. Biohazard type stuff.

The more I look at these, the more I'm liking them. Hmm. I'm already backing four projects right now. Do I really want to add another?

So yeah, that happened while we've all been gushing over larger, more well- known projects.

Stretch goals are coming too.

7000 goal= weapon sprues!
10500= bonus RPG soldier added to unit
12500= Female Commander added to unit
15000= Female Squad Option (?)

Add Ons are available as well:

I caved and backed it last night. I don't think I'll be disappointed by these. I'd suggested in the comments having mining tools as improvised weapons and RBJ seemed to like the idea. I think that's what spurred them on to go with the weapon sprue idea. Although, since these guys are single piece casts, I'm not quite sure how that's going to work. Still, this jumped by almost $1k since I backed it last night. I think we will probably be hitting that stretch goal.

I don't have any use for these minis really, but I have to say I appreciate them and think they're lovely old-school sculpts. Would have looked great with my Kryomek guys back in the 90s.

I like that they fit an old school aesthetic, while still being rather sleek and well-detailed by modern standards. Too often I feel like "old school" is just used as a euphemism for sculpting skill that has not improved in 30 years. These look cool.

I like the old skool look but in these days of 32mm "heroic scale" they look kind of small.

Rogue Planet is a recent release that is exactly that! It's very cool

I have that, didn't think it really compared to SoBaH though.

There's always Mutants and Death Ray Guns, which is an SOBH expansion. They would probably also work with TNT. In fact, I think delivery is supposed to be around the same time as TNT.

These look great. If I had the funds I'd back it. I'm surprised more companies aren't providing smooth helmets like that.

I have that too. You can play sci-fi with it but it's very much post-apoc themed.

Necros Skirmish System seems like it might work well when he comes out with the sci-fi expansion.

How about Osprey's Black Ops? I know it's meant for modern/near future, but there are rules in it for using sci-fi gear. In October, Osprey is releasing a proper sci-fi game in the form of Rogue Stars. Rogue Stars also just happens to be written by Andrea Sfiligoi. There's also 5150 from 2 Hour Wargames, though that's a bit more of an RPG.

Just saw that Bombshell Miniatures plans on releasing a 1.5 edition of Counterblast via KS this summer. These would be a perfect fit for GDF!

New update today showed a rough concept for a heavy laser trooper. Looks like I might be getting my mining laser after all.

STAR Troopers Too is now on Kick Starter. Skeleton robots, officers and other cool stuff. 28mm METAL

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1620164718/star-troopers-too?ref=project_link

This is Ben Rodman, AKA Wizard Goose from RBJ Game Company. My task is to come up with new designs and concepts for our artists to work from. With the success of our first Kickstarter the stars have aligned for me to produce a good number of brand new designs. Bobby Jackson has sculpted some imaginative models for you this time around. Fortress Figures is again producing our figures so you know the quality will be top notch. Along with my brother, Jeff, and my sister, Ronda, we are reaching out to the miniatures gaming community to support our second Kickstarter Project.

For this Project we have General Aurora Salt, Robots, and several more specialists. For our backers in the U.S.A, we also offer FREE shipping for pledge level ending the campaign at $50.00 or more.

We successfully fulfilled the pledges 3 months ahead of schedule. We were done within 5 weeks of the end of the campaign.

We have also just opened up all Stretch Goals for any backers ending the campaign with a pledge of $80.00 or more. If you end the campaign at $80.00 or more, you will receive all 8 Stretch Goals for Free regardless of the final funding level.
