Greetings, all! I am working on my Masters degree in Business Administration. Currently I am working on the capstone for the program, which is a hypothetical business plan for a business that I would want to run. And being the huge fan of miniature wargaming that I am, I decided to make my company a miniature wargames company, complete with rules writing and miniatures production.

The only issue that I am having is in Google not being sufficient in helping my searches for plastic molding stuff, specifically the equipment needed to create injection-molded high impact polystyrene (HIPS) plastic models such as Games Workshop or Mantic Games produces. You know, the plastic sprues we know and love?

I'm wanting my company to use plastic rather than resin or pewter, since it is (typically) the preferred medium for models. Does anyone have any knowledge of the costs involved in getting it set up? And if so, what are your sources? And I don't want anything that is "for the home/hobbyist", but the real deal, along the lines of Games Workshop or other large model and miniature companies.

If not that, then perhaps you all may know of model casting services that exist. I already am aware of Renedra Ltd. (http://www.renedra.co.uk/services.php) but I am hoping to find one in the United States. Google as so far failed to help me in this, outside of companies that will make parts for large equipment, but no other company seems to be casting models at this point in time.

I have about 4 weeks to get this finished up, and will take all the help I can get at this point.

Thanks, everyone!

Well, on GW forums, anyway.

Eccentric Miniatures/Retairis is based in the US, and focused on injection-moulded polystyrene minis and accessories. Not sure where their casting is based, though.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

All the US companies that I can think of off hand use facilities in China (e.g. Wargames Factory etc.) for HIPS production.
