Hi all,

I am massively struggling to come up with some 1500-2000pt lists as this is my first time really playing necrons.

I love the idea of a royal court but can't see it being viable.

My ultimate goal isn't cheese, just a fun list to play with that includes immortals and a few characters (my favourite models).

Cheers for any help you can offer

I myself struggled to find a good list to build when I started.

The Reclamation Legion's to good not to take imho. Given your love of characters, a royal court could work.

What characters would you like to include? You can include 2 named Overlords, 2 named Crypteks, and Vargard Obryn (Lord)

<Dynasty> ~10500pts
War Coven of the Coruscating Gaze ~3000pts
Thrice-Damned Plague Corps ~3250pts
Admech (TBN) ~3500pts +30k Bots and Ulator

Ah brilliant, thanks for the advice!

To be honest I'm quite happy fielding any of the characters), however the one that gives +1 to reanimation protocols (codex not to hand so name escapes me!) Is a good idea I think.

In all honesty I'm not 100% how the detachments work, it seems like you can have a sun detachment within your decision, which is different from the way I've seen other detachments work (grey knighs).

Well, any Cryptek will give you +1 to RP rolls, but so does taking a RL, and the RP can only be 4+ at best.

So for best shenanigans, I would recommend taking the following list.

(2000)
Reclamation Legion
-Nemesor Zandrekh-150
-10 Immortals-170
-10 Immortals-170
-3 Tomb Blades (Nebuloscopes, Shieldvanes)-66
-3 Tomb Blades (Nebuloscopes, Shieldvanes)-66
-9 Lychguard (Swords/Shield, Night Scythe)-400
-10 Warriors (Ghost Ark)-235
-10 Warriors (Ghost Ark)-235

Royal Court
-Anrakyr-160
-Orikan-120
-Obryn-120

-6 Deathmarks-108

Comes out to 200 points exact, it is in no way competitive, but it would be fun. Plenty of special rules to goof around with.

If you want something more competitive the Auxiliary choices would go as follows
-Destroyer Cults/Judicator Battalions are great when you can field them
-Deathmarksare good as a cheap tax (Best in units of 10 imho)
-Flayed Ones are really good good if you take a couple MSU
-Canoptek Harvest is a good one, but their are more and more ways people are coming up with to defeat it
-C'tan are ok but I don'tfind them particularly worth taking
-Annihilation Nexus is very hit or miss, not the best formation, but can be fun in friendly games
-Deathbringer Flight is good for anti-tank fire support, points would probably best be put elsewhere
-Living Tomb is ok at a high points limit.

This is also a good reference site: ( https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Warhammer_40,000/Tactics/Necrons(7E)

Hope this helps

Really appreciate the write up dude, thanks so much!

It's prompted me to look into the canoptek spyder list too!

Running the Canoptek harvest with a destroyer lord with a warscythe/res orb can make for a scary Killy unit. D/lord can keep up for the most part with his jet pack move in the shooting phase, and can daisy chain him into combat. Giving a unit of 6 wraiths RP, especially in a Decurion, is very handy and then adding in the preferred enemy from the D/lord makes them quite scary. Expensive points wise in a Decurion though, need it bare bones. Alternatively can take it in a CAD and also run an orikan-star with orikan and sword & board lychguard and whatever characters you please. Sprinkle in some tomb blades and you've got a fun list.
