I really enjoyed painting this Miniature. It was the first time I tried something different with the scheme and also painting a sword like that. Learned a lot and was super fun to paint.

C&C always welcomed!

Good model. If I would offer any advice, I feel like it could do with another colour somewhere. Since it is a Sergeant, I would give him a red helmet, and a white stripe if you want him to be a veteran. Apart from that, I really like the gold with the silver edging.

If you can't believe in yourself, believe in me! Believe in the Dakka who believes in you!

I totally should have done that!

Thanks for all the kind words all. Very much appreciated.

I like the look of your model, especially the gold parts, they stand out really well.

Just a question, is that MKVIII armour? That collar thing looks new. I think. If that's a combat knife that thing is insanely big too.

I don't know the specific answer to your question about what Mark the armor is, but this model was put together from the stock Tactical Marine Squad box. The sword was also a stock one on the sprue, but not a regular combat knife, either. No kit bashing.

Nice job, I agree about giving him a flash of red on the helmet, but that's a matter of personal taste. Most of my sergeants have a red shoulder pad, as I find painting helmets a pain.

Anyway, I really like the work on the studded shoulder pad. Really adds to the depth.

As for the queries about the armour marks. The chest plate is Mk8 which is why it has the rather pronounced gorget. The left shoulder pad and the legs are both Mk6. And the sword is a standard power sword.

Hope this helps.

Looks really great, mdlbuilder!
I agree with the point about a little bit more colour. Have you thought about adding decals? Super easy to do, and would add a nice bit of colour. A Ultra's symbol on the shoulderpad would look ace.

Good luck!

Seconded, the metallics look great but that right shoulder pad's dying for a UM insignia
