Hello everybody,

I have recently bought the Start Collecting! Orks bundle, along with two Ork Trukks to get a 600pts list up and going as fast as possible, but now, I'm seeking to expand the repertoire of models that I can have at my side, so I was wondering, what models should I start saving for now/buying now?

Thank you in advance to all replies and suggestions

Well, lootas and mek guns are mostly made through conversions, and are pretty rad.
Bikers nobz also popular.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Lootas with Deffguns and Tankbustas. They both wreak face. A squad of 15x Lootas with Deffguns will do nicely to start because the Deffguns are 48" range, S7, AP3 (I think), Heavy weapon with D3 shots in the Shooting Phase. They are awesome!

Boyz are always fun. Try pickup an AOBR set it comes with some deffkoptas which are nice and you can get them reasonably cheap

AP4. They are relatively cheap auto cannons with D3 shots. Its hard to go wrong with lootas for long range fire support.

As for OP you should think about what general strategy you want for your Orks. Trukk lists will need lots of trukks with things to put into them (boyz, meganobz, tankbustas, burnas, etc). Battlewagons (and the blitz brigade formation) are a fairly effective tactic of getting your Orks down field in relatively one piece. Warbikers are a solid choice for mobile units with good shooting (for Orks), good survivability, and are decently good in close combat. As others have said Mek Guns (kannons, lobbas, kustom mega kannon) are very useful weapons and give some long range fire support to your army to soften up the enemy before you charge in. Being artillery and crewed by grots they have T7 and yet each crew is only 3 points each so they have insanely high durability for the cost. Lootas are a bread and butter unit that can handle your AA and anti light/medium vehicle killing. In any list though you want Tankbustas as these are probably the best unit in the Ork codex by a wide margin. Cheap Str 8 AP 3 shooting with tankhunter and they have melta bombs so charging even super heavy vehicles usually means your going to be murdering that vehicle. Grots are a non flashy but very effective unit for capturing objectives, blocking units, and drawing fire. You really want a Warboss either on a bike or with mega armor to make use of the lucky stikk.
