Hi all, I was just wondering about the Start Collecting! Dataslates. Obviously the formations included use everything that comes in the box, but how scalable are they? Will it only work for small games with ~500pts per side or are they flexible enough to use at 1500-2000?

They use what's in the box. Very few of those formations are able to add more than what is in the box(Orks and Tyranids along with Crisis Teams in the Tau Empire one off the top of my head).

Now, multiples of those formations are a different story.

Do all of the start collecting boxes have a dataslate or just some of them?

I get a real feeling of an HQ tax with them actually. I think the Ork one goes well with the Grukk Face-Rippa Formation from Stormclaw, with additional models of course, but the rest are very limiting when it comes to larger armies. There's no point not to just take a CAD if you want the things offered. A couple of the Formation Benefits are cool and useful, but not good enough to be worth the tax.

Each of the Start Collecting sets includes a dataslate.

The Daemon ones(and the other Age of Sigmar Start Collecting sets, obviously) are strictly for Age of Sigmar however.

So the Khorne Daemonkin is gunna have a dataslate that is useless for 40K? what a load of poop.

There is no Khorne Daemonkin start collecting.

There's Khorne Daemons and Nurgle Daemons.

Ok... so let me rephrase it then. The Khorne Daemons is not gunna have a usable dataslate for 40K?

Alright, so basically these formations are mainly designed to be used right "out of the box"? Seems a little disappointing, especially given the Ork box contents...

With the Khorne daemons did they include being able to change the blood throne into a skull cannon? or are those pieces mysteriously missing?

The ork formation is actually pretty awesome. I plan to use the formation with Bikernobs and and PainBiker.
